CSMA/CD - Scratchings of an insane parrot

CSMA/CD - Scratchings of an insane parrot. April 4th, 2011. Carrier Sense, Multiple Access / Collision Detect. Well it's moved on a bit since then at the topology/packet transmission level, but fundamentally it's still the same principle. Ethernet networks, that sort of network that your computers at home are connected together by and also the network that is the main and primary communications channel holding the internet together, is CSMA/CD. Dear ACM * - Scratchings of an insane parrot

Dear ACM * - Scratchings of an insane parrot. September 22nd, 2009. Although I appreciate your friendly concern and understand the difficulty an organisation such as yours has in raising funds, I am sorry to inform you that I am unable to contribute to your treasury at this point in time, or at any other point in time I might add. Let's look at the bare facts. If it's all the same by everyone else, I'll put my tick in the box marked "I would rather vote for my head of state". Comments: Leave a comment.

My sympathies go out to . - Scratchings of an insane parrot. May 6th, 2010. My sympathies go out to . This week I decided that my fat and lazy abs needed a bit of a work out so that they could match the muscle tone of the rest of my body (you there! Stop laughing and STFU! I do have a six-pack, it's in the bag with all of the other groceries. OK, plan good, execution poor. 10% of the time it fails dramatically. That was today. 2011 Retrospective - I, AutumnHeart
http://i-autumnheart.livejournal.com/37901.html
Random blather of an overworked geek. Losing my mind one project at a time. Essays by Paul Graham. The dark is rising. Besides being a complete failure of blogging, 2011 can be describes as the year I could have done without. Was the floods, of course which I did actually blog about. And which thankfully weren't as bad as they could have been (though quite bad enough for the people directly affected - I was one of the lucky ones). Was spent unpacking things, and adjusting to working in an office building...

Jun 20th, 2014 at 10:47 PM. Coming back from a work trip to Rutherglen, I was struck again how what logically should be the Northern Ring Road, as distinct from the Western Ring Road, is instead labelled the Metropolitan. Ring Road. Wikipedia tells us that. It is officially the Northern Ring Road, but the signage says it is the Metropolitan Ring Road. As if being not Western makes it somehow more serious, indeed Metropolitan. The Wikipedia entry also directs one to the 1969 Melbourne Transport Plan.

10km! - Barnsey's Livejournal
http://chrisbarnes.livejournal.com/124148.html
Ruminations of Captain Pudding. 26 June 2012 @ 08:58 pm. I just ran 10.3km! First time I've cracked the 10km mark. Took me one hour and nine minutes, which is pretty slow, but good enough for me. I'm starting to believe I will actually manage to run the City to Surf this year. 3 comments Leave a comment. On June 26th, 2012 01:19 pm (UTC). On June 26th, 2012 01:22 pm (UTC). C'est Moi: January 2012
http://wakefield-manor.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
It's all about me, people. Wednesday, 25 January 2012. We all know that things seen cannot be unseen. What I saw this afternoon driving back from Lincrap (spools of organic cotton thread for $2.50? Definitely falls into that category. There was a lass cycling down the main road riding against the traffic. She was a rather large lass in the boobage department and the only reason I noticed was that her pendulous breasts were obviously unsupported during her very rigourous ride. Sigh. Sunday, 22 January 2012.

It's all about me, people. Friday, 7 January 2011. First Post, 2011. Happy New Year, one and all. I assume you all survived admirably. It has been a while since I posted anything truly good, but so much has happened in the last month, that it's all going in point form once again:. Over the course of a month, I cannot begin to determine how much food was consumed and socialising conducted. In short, a lot. A most excellent New Year's celebration with my urban family. Tonight, there will be steak, tomorrow...

C'est Moi: February 2013
http://wakefield-manor.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
It's all about me, people. Thursday, 7 February 2013. I am about to share some astonishing news. It will come as a great shock to Miss BT since this was something I never. Did when we flatted together. I spent the morning on Tuesday in the garden. I weeded and pruned and trimmed and generally made the garden look just a little bit nicer. I even planted some seeds. Using white duct tape and bamboo skewers. Hoping some mulch will make the gardenias happy. Thursday, February 07, 2013. Photo of the Month.
