Unmanned Systems In Iraq. March 23, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 4:57 pm. Ironically enough, I was getting up at that time to attend the Easter Sunrise service on the grounds of the Al Faw Palace. The service was remarkable; not withstanding the stress experienced about 6 miles north of us in downtown Baghdad. The morning was beautiful with the sun rising above a cloud bank on the horizon. Just below is a picture of the palace. It is quite remarkable and massive. March 19, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 11:58 am. Also at th...

Unmanned Systems In Iraq. April 23, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 3:15 pm. The transport to and from the VBC and FOB was interesting and frustrating, again very characteristic of a wartime environment. We traveled via helo both ways, both times flights were either canceled, delayed or both. I really felt fortunate to get to the FOB and back at VBC when we did. Both ways, going out or returning, I thought we were going to stay at the locale another night. April 16, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 3:17 pm. April 8, 2008.

I’ll sign out for now and hopefully this addition will give you a notion of the happenings, efforts expended and general environment at Camp Victory. February 28, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 12:09 pm. After getting off the plane, there were about 10 Blackhawk helos getting ready to takeoff for night missions. About 10 soldiers per helo, fully outfitted with night vision, full body armor, backpacks and weapons. Those guys are unbelievably...The d...

Unmanned Systems In Iraq. May 31, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 4:06 pm. Excerpts from the Coalition Joint Task Force Troy Periodical: The Defuse. The things we carry with us ordinary objects of little significance otherwise become pieces of reverence when we carry them to the moment of death. The iPod in the cargo pocket, the wallet in the back pocket and the sweetheart photo in the breast pocket these things become the last tangible link to existence. They become relics. Unmanned Systems In Iraq. June 12, 2008. 8212; auvsi @ 7:30 am. In many ways it seems the past 120 days have gone by very quickly, however, in other aspects, it feels like 5 years have past. Anyway, here is a listing of my routine and not-so-routine efforts:. Participated in planning, trials and execution of a field operation in MND-W AOR (Fallujah area). Details of operation can be transmitted via SIPR upon request. Participated and aided in the development of a proposal briefing for an emerging technol...
