Refreshing Words: December 2011
http://www.refreshingwords.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 16, 2011. Sometimes It Hurts So Bad: A Sonnet. I'm waking, thinking, and wondering why. The sun rose breaking the day like a splash. I am still thinking of our sad good-bye. Light of day makes the tone seem oh so brash. I wish I could run from my thoughts today. The pen and my journal are leading me. But alas I hear the voice of Yahweh. Telling me: you are not bound you are free. I greet the day as a fountain of hope. My heart is full of gratitude and grace. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, February 7, 2014. To the seemingly limitless and sometimes waste of energy options available to us now. Some of it I don't want to see as clearly, but that is another whole topic. So how can we apply this our spiritual lives? What do you do when things are out of focus? Do you stay in a state of blurred vision and succumb to the aches and pains of confusion? Or do you remember that you belong to the King of Kings and He has your life in His hands? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, October 29, 2012. Finish Strong: Thoughts of an Armchair Quarterback. How far does "Bounty-Gate" really go? Are the Redskins going to protect their exceptional, record-breaking quarterback? These distractions take the sting out of a cocky, overly-talented, bunch of individuals who can't seems to string together 60 minutes of teamwork to win decisively this season. But about finishing strong. Sunday, October 21, 2012. I have been a bit of a control freak, I can admit that. However, I have lear...

Friday, March 16, 2012. My Top Ten List. But these are memories and connections that I need in my life and so writing must wait. 5 We have added to our family- no I have NOT had another baby! But I have my 21-year-old niece living in my home and we have become Godparents to a precious baby boy. I spend time as I am drifting off to sleep wondering how I can be a better Aunt, what can say to help shape and mold this young woman at this critical time in her life? No, I will never do that. My Top Ten List.

Monday, June 24, 2013. Here it is: Monday morning and I am in another meeting (coffee cup empty: yikes! But my light bulb has come on during this briefing about a seemingly never-ending plan to deliver electronic health records to our military health care beneficiaries. Its all about eliminating redundancies, portfolio management, and risk mitigation strategies. AHA! There is it is: risk mitigation. No more risk mitigation for me. The circle of life is an amazing thing. Two lives ended yet still ...I...

Thursday, July 5, 2012. What Are You Becoming? The word becoming has been interesting to me since my time in the Army. The Uniform Code of Military Justice is the essentially the military standards of law and order. It contains "Articles" or laws which must be adhered to by all members of the uniformed service. While there are hundreds of Articles, the most common (albeit catch all) one is Article 133 "Conduct Unbecoming of an Officer.". What are you becoming? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an err...

Friday, March 28, 2014. Spoken Word piece I performed at the Grace Covenant Church 2014 Re:fresh Women's Conference. I am the light. You are the light. We are the light. Providing hope to the hopeless. Igniting the power of change. Testifying about the great exchange. But do you live in the light? Find it hard to live in the light? Something blocking your light? No matter what don't hide your light! Because if you don't shine, who will guide them? I mean if YOU don't shine who will guide them? I am ...
