THE GIANT STEP FORWARD: August 2010
http://thegiantstepforward.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
THE GIANT STEP FORWARD. My blog describing the ramblings of a Partick Thistle supporting, SNP and Trade Union Activist. FAREWELL TO A FRIEND. Today I said farewell to a friend, Jimmy Reid, as I attended his funeral in Govan. As I have commented elsewhere, he was quite simply a giant n every sense of the word. Was on the road to. This was a full five years before he joined the party. Everytime Jimmy was speaking at a fringe event the room was crowded. At the STUC in 2005 held in. From then on, escorting J...

THE GIANT STEP FORWARD: January 2010
http://thegiantstepforward.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
THE GIANT STEP FORWARD. My blog describing the ramblings of a Partick Thistle supporting, SNP and Trade Union Activist. A perhaps predictable headline for this post, but I have been thinking over the last week or so that the recent developments at Westminster are part of a wider malaise within New Labour as they appear to stumble towards the Election. Whilst acknowledging that some of the publicity that Brown receives from the English establishment is out of order, what was the rebellion actually about?

THE GIANT STEP FORWARD: July 2010
http://thegiantstepforward.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
THE GIANT STEP FORWARD. My blog describing the ramblings of a Partick Thistle supporting, SNP and Trade Union Activist. This weekends newspapers would make one weep as story after story is all about the cuts to the Public Sector, as the CON-DEM Westminster Government continue their Butcher Knife assault for purely political philosophical reasons. The only one of two countries in the g20 not to try and grow their way out of recession, the future is bleak. It doesn’t have to be this way. Has seen in over 3...

chris for pollok: ITS TIME FOR CHRIS STEPHENS
http://chrisforpollok.blogspot.com/2007/04/its-time-for-chris-stephens.html
Thursday, 26 April 2007. ITS TIME FOR CHRIS STEPHENS. For too many years, the people of Pollok have laboured under a cosy regime of politicians who have forgotten their roots and the very principles they were elected to uphold. They are not worthy of your trust - any more than the lame duck leader at Westminster they meekly follow. It time for Pollok Voters to have a REAL. Representative in the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood, who has the AMBITION, VISION AND IDEALS,. ITS TIME FOR CHRIS STEPHENS.

Bid for Freedom!: The waiting game
http://bidforfreedom.blogspot.com/2009/10/waiting-game.html
The musings of an SNP activist. Monday, 26 October 2009. I could be in labour any moment now (that’s the process of giving birth, and not the political party before anyone starts spreading rumours! I’ve been making the most of this part of my maternity leave, and using it to organise some campaign things and get my filing in order – but it’s very frustrating to have such little energy or flexibility! Good to see you at Conference Julie! Thinking of you and sending good wishes. :). 26 October 2009 at 16:13.

Bid for Freedom!: December 2008
http://bidforfreedom.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The musings of an SNP activist. Tuesday, 30 December 2008. How predictable. There have not only been calls to freeze the minimum wage. But also to allow businesses to pay their employees less than the minimum wage because of current economic problems. My blood pressure was going through the roof yesterday when I heard a UKIP politician on Radio 2 calling for businesses to be allowed to pay below the National Minimum Wage! So, the cause of the current recession has been the National Minimum Wage then?

Bid for Freedom!: May 2009
http://bidforfreedom.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
The musings of an SNP activist. Friday, 29 May 2009. As a (relatively) young woman in politics, and one very aware of the gender dimension of politics – having both studied gender politics and also convening the SNP Women’s Forum for a time – I am disappointed that women are under-represented in this vital area of public life. I have been told not to overdo things, to avoid stairwells, and not to feel under pressure to do more than I feel up to just because I’m the candidate. Interestingly, a handful of ...

Bid for Freedom!: New destiNation article
http://bidforfreedom.blogspot.com/2009/10/new-destination-article.html
The musings of an SNP activist. Sunday, 4 October 2009. I have been neglecting my blog over recent months, mainly because I didn't think I would be able to refrain from using it to vent frustration at all my pregnancy-related 'ailments'! Plus, I usually only had time to blog late at night, and I've been heading to bed much earlier than usual. Growing a new little person is hard work! Anyway, I have still managed to keep destiNation. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Click on the pic. I like to read.
