Tuesday, December 16, 2014. More of cannery row. We sat for a while here. They don't call it cannery row for nothin'. We went to Monterey to wander around the Elkhorn Slough. I added the aquarium. To the mix so we extended out stay by one night. When we got up there we discovered that the Slough was closed on Mondays AND Tuesdays. What's up with that? We stayed on Cannery Row. Enough to make us wander around looking for more at least. There were tidy tips, poppies, and a bunch I do not know the names of. There was also frost and birds. The birdsong was remarkable. Sunday, August 16, 2015. The perseids: a campout. Meteor shower is visible in the U.S. every August and every August we aim to go out and watch meteors. Some years we manage to schlep ourselves out to a dark sky while others we throw in the towel due to light pollution or a full moon. Waiting for the show. This year, there would be a new moon which meant dark skies! After making sure there would be little or no cloud coverage, we took advantage of geography and headed out to Carrizo National Monument.
