Our Allotment: Rain Rain Go Away
http://greenfingers-allotment.blogspot.com/2007/06/rain-rain-go-away.html
The story of our allotment. Monday, June 25, 2007. Rain Rain Go Away. I can't believe that 2 months ago we were having to water the allotment and praying for rain. We have now had 6 weeks of rain in one day. Not funny for our neighbours who's garden you can see in the photo above. We have come off quite lightly, there have been many more in Sheffield who's houses have been flooded for the second time in ten days. The potatoes are looking great and taste even better, these are Desiree and come up with a p...

http://secretsonaslope.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Secrets on a slope. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Today was a nice day down on the allotment as I got to meet some of the others who have been gardening there for years. It took me almost as long to clear the little patch behind the cleared one as it was jam packed full of grass and thistles. A new cold frame was added too. Just need some garlic now. Cold frame ready for some garlic. Weed clearing in failing light. Pond to be removed. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Monday, November 28, 2011. Then I whippe...

http://secretsonaslope.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Secrets on a slope. Tuesday, July 05, 2011. Bilberries are early this year. I have been keeping my eye on them and they are one sunny spell from sweet perfection. Anyhow. today I decided to pick some leaves and make some tea. One tray of leaves at 75°C (electric fan oven) for hour. One heaped teaspoon steeped for 5 minutes. A surprisingly good taste! Secrets on a slope. Sunday, April 24, 2011. I took the ginger biscuit recipe, took out the ginger and went all butter. The results are great. I measured each ball of the mixture to 20g a piece and they were ready after 8 minutes in a fully preheated fan oven. The edited version of the recipe is below. Give it a go! 8 oz (220g) flour, 2 cups. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 4 oz (110 g) butter, 1/2 cup. 4 oz (110 g) sugar, 2 cups. 1 Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. secrets on a slope: June 2010
http://secretsonaslope.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Secrets on a slope. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. In the spirit of. Making the best of what we've got' I decided to do a little research about our soil to nip a developing soil-envy in the bud! Visiting family in the south I was so impressed by the beautiful soil they have (and take for granted). It is crumbly, brown, soft and everything seems to grow so well (including the weeds - ha ha! It seems to be everything that soil should be. So what is good about it? Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Thursday, June 10, 2010.

http://secretsonaslope.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Secrets on a slope. Monday, September 20, 2010. I visited a tree tonight that I have had my eye on for a while. Got everything I could without a ladder whilst in the dark. I now have around 5lb of crab apples. what to do with them? On flickr. If I can get some tasty hawthorn berries then I might go for this recipe. I feel this weekend will involve some serious jar sterilisation. Monday, September 20, 2010. Wednesday, September 15, 2010. I recently looked for a few extra spools that hold thread under the ...
