ADC: November 2011
http://geoxen.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 27, 2011. So I have finally got some of the sketches ready for posting. Not much to say on them really. Just some more drawings based off of cartoons, photos of people, animals, and Ronald Searle. That was the one thing I had forgotten to mention in my previous post on influences. I had forgotten to mention Ronald Searle, whom I drew from for studies based on the book "Modern Types.". The sketches/studies below range from oldest to newest. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Now I have nothing t...

ADC: Influences in my life, artistically.
http://geoxen.blogspot.com/2011/11/influences-in-my-life-artistically.html
Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Influences in my life, artistically. I have scanned some of my sketchbook work and do intend to post it soon. Before that I want to post something as a mental note to myself, as I am certain no one will read this. So I was stumbling around on John Kricfalusi's blog, when I came upon his talk on influences. The links are below. Http:/ johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2006/09/importance-of-having-lot-of-influences.html. During my time at the studio I picked up "influences": Nine old men ...

No user-serviceable parts inside: December 2014
http://blog.brucemwalker.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
No user-serviceable parts inside. Or outside, either. Sunday, December 28, 2014. Santa was good to me. I've been needing to upgrade a few bits of gear moving into the new year, so I appealed to Santa and was rewarded with a new iMac and five boxes of Paul C Buff lighting stuff. Here's me sitting in my (messy) office illuminated by a 22 inch beauty dish fitted with a 15 degree grid mounted on an Einstein 640 strobe. The grid does a fine job of tightly controlling the beam spread. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Flooby Shorts: Let's Begin
http://floobyshorts.blogspot.com/2010/03/lets-begin.html
Saturday, March 6, 2010. OK, so here we go. I've been hugely motivated by the short films and clips created by friends Curtis Carey. I'm finally finding the time to make my own very short and senseless animated spots. After working in television cartoons for the past 10 years now, I've rarely had the chance to doodle up my own little cartoons. So I've been putting this off way too long. It's time I did this for myself, for fun! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

No user-serviceable parts inside. Or outside, either. Tuesday, February 25, 2014. A photo by Bruce M Walker. Jewelry designer Kat Shura of Curious Oddities. At Artisans of the Metropolis. Sunday, February 09, 2014. Effective Rim Lighting on a Budget. Outlining (is) the requirement. So I thought about what I could do to get the cost down and still achieve the look I wanted. Well first of all, I needed a couple of extra light sources. Since I still needed to front-light my subject, that meant I would n...
