As almost all the other TAs I know, back in 2011 I built this cheap mocap tool for 3dsMax. I used C# and official MS Kinect SDK. The video above shows the results, in realtime from 3dsMax viewport. I solved the arm and leg rotation issues using a custom up vector. Animators would animate this vector after the first rough mocap capture. I may post a picture of tool’s GUI eventually].
