creative tots: Small World - Part 2
http://ourcreativetots.blogspot.com/2013/06/small-world-part-2.html
Small World - Part 2. This week is about life in miniature. In our home a lot of our play is based on the floor - I really believe that getting down to their level is important and really rewarding. I love to see how Noah immerses himself in play. The. Game/world/situation he creates with his toys is all consuming and quite often reflects or reenacts something that happened days before. I like to think he is replaying moments with complete control over them. 1 TBSP Vegetable Oil. 2 tsp Cream of Tarter.

creative tots: Shadow Puppets
http://ourcreativetots.blogspot.com/2013/05/shadow-puppets.html
A very warm welcome to all our lovely new and returning tots and grown ups. Puppet shows at home don't have to be very complex or expensive. A sheet and a doorway or a cardboard box with a torch can offer the perfect setting for some great stories. Your tots will love putting on shows for you, themselves and each other. Give it a go, step into their small world and see what happens…. This doorway theatre from little lovables. Lovely shadow puppets in action over at make monthly.

creative tots: January 2013
http://ourcreativetots.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
It seemed appropriate to start with something icy as our first inspiring theme for creative play. Ok so the snow got washed away, but we've been missing it at home and some frosty activities have been just the ticket to remind us how fun the snow can be. Lovely idea offers lots of variation, think using juice instead of food colouring, or trying this out on a warm summers day. 2 There are so many different variations on ice lanterns , but this tutorial. By the 'Kiwi Crate' team seems super simple. It's d...

creative tots: Play Creatively
http://ourcreativetots.blogspot.com/2013/01/creative-tots.html
It's interesting to watch adults play with their children at times. There's almost a competitive element to getting it right. We are so driven to teach our kids about right and wrong, manners, how to be independent, but also how to share and play nice. How often do we allow the child to lead the play? Why is it so hard to relinquish control over the order things are done? Are the 'rules' that important? Or by the very act of sharing that time together are we fully satisfying our child's needs? I'm not sa...

creative tots: Snow Globes
http://ourcreativetots.blogspot.com/2013/02/snow-globes.html
I love the magic of a good snow globe and was so excited to see these ideas out there on the interweb. A wonderful transformation of humble jam jar and plastic toys into a glittery wonderland. There are loads of variations of how to do it and also lots of potential uses for it. Here are some of my favourites. I used a hot glue gun for instant stickiness and just water (works fine). This tutorial came from here . Idea for giving a gift card - definitely going to do this. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
