Marlene has been with ABLE Families for 10 years in various capacities, most recently as the Site Leader of our Maternal, Infant Outreach Worker program. Marlene and her husband Lindsey, live in Kermit, and have been married 18 years. They are the parents of three children. They are active members of Lighthouse Community Church.

Helping in His Name, in the Heart of Appalachia. Archive October, 2013. Recently, on a rainy-all-day Saturday, Mingo County celebrated its annual King Coal Festival. In spite of the driving rain and wind that toppled at least one booth’s canopy, King Coal devotees and vendors turned out. There were a few empty spots, and a few vendors, intimidated by the chill and dampness or the danger to fragile or perishable products, closed down early. But most came and stuck the day out.
