Chicken Soup for the Seoul. These tales are supposed to be heartwarming. On Saturday, Josh, Jiyoung and I met up and went to Gostiniy Dvor for dinner. The restaurant was small and near to Dongdaemun and pretty bizarre to get to in that all of a sudden you are in Korea but all of the people (many of whom I would have guessed were Korean) were speaking Russian and everything was in Cyrillic. We started out with some vodka shots. And stuffed bell peppers. Yum. Was so much fun. Proud to be at Lotteria! This ...

Chicken Soup for the Seoul. These tales are supposed to be heartwarming. So, last Thursday was not only Thanksgiving but also my friend Jon's birthday. So our friend Becky rented a private party room and organized a J-pop themed party. It was a lot of fun. Jamila and Dave both came. They had a lot of fun, too. Everyone was glad to meet them after having heard me talk about them so much. (This is the birthday boy! John thought Bots was a riot. Jamila and I serenaded everyone with Party in the USA. Tonight...

Chicken Soup for the Seoul. These tales are supposed to be heartwarming. So, it's been a while since Japan and if you have facebook you've probably already seen all of these pictures, but I thought I would finish the post anyway. Nara is famous for its deer. They kind of just wander about pooping on temples from what I can tell. No fear. They will chase you down the block in a herd if they catch you holding a deer cookie. Many crying children running from hungry deer. Very entertaining. Or sampled the pl...

Chicken Soup for the Seoul. These tales are supposed to be heartwarming. So, after 10 days in Vietnam, we made it to Laos. Presently, I'm at an internet cafe in the capital city, Vientiane and so far I really like it here (in Vientiane, the internet cafe is only okay). I really want to be able to start putting pictures up, but the internet is sooo slow here! I've been waiting for an hour and have only managed to upload 40 pictures. If I ever get that sorted, I will post pics! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Nick and I met with KK, Tadhg and Caitlin in Insadong to get some traditional Korean tea. Tadhg had also never been to Insadong, which is just entirely absurd. It was a nice Sunday evening. KK got bamboo tea. It tasted like leaves. We both got cinnamon tea. A Visit to Osan. Chicken Ranch Sandwich with Swiss Chz! Bau House Dog Cafe. The light fixtures were dog bowls.

Chicken Soup for the Seoul. These tales are supposed to be heartwarming. This weekend there was an event called Fermentation Celebration. It was probably the best day ever. Here are the pictures I did manage to take:. The fermentation enthusiasts post consumption. The line for kimchi tacos. I couldn't believe how many people were into fermentation. We ate some lunch. I'm actually not very into kombucha but everyone else in the world seems to be so I should probably sort that out. Our beautiful love motel.
