Aboard IO: A Two Year Pacific Crossing. Friday, December 3, 2010. From Brisbane to Bamfield in 5 days. Like they say, nothing goes to windward like a jet airplane! Sidney to Calgary in 13 hours, incredible! I don’t think anyone living in modern society appreciates what an airplane can do until you have taken 10 months to sail what a plane can do in 13 hours. Of course on the boat your body has allot more time to acclimate to the weather en-route. 19 hours after leaving sunny, warm 25. Now I am above 48.

Adventures on the West Coast. There were many things in bloom in January along with cherry trees. It was as if VANOC somehow got the cherry trees in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery to bloom for all of the tourists that were here for the Olympics. We went downtown for a little bit to see the cauldron and such. We went down to the VAG and the trees were just beautiful. Mt Baker and something else from the beach. Tulips and Something else. It would be interesting to see. I bet that it is quite a significant amount. I guess it's better for them to spend it on that rather than make sure that everyone in their society is in good health. Adventures on the West Coast. With spring break upon us and it getting late in the year to do some fruit tree pruning, I ventured to cut some branches. After some reading and learning a bit when I went to an ashram some time ago, I climbed into the trees and got to it. The apple tree wasn't too bad, you can see the significantly smaller pile of branches on the grounds beside it as compared to the plum tree. Oh, happy snow Thunder Bay!
