A Bride in the Desert. A Southern Belle making the best out of making aliyah. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Moving Again: The Dog's Innermost Thoughts. Is that what I think it is? Are those.moving boxes? Let's go over this one more time. I hate moving. I hate it as much as I hate cats. And you know how much I hate cats, because I try to eat them. Are you trying to make me eat you? If I had thumbs, I'd have hitchhiked my way back home a long time ago. Yes, I admit I haven't always been the most willing parti...

Kicking ass and taking names. Just call us the Chuck Norris of moving abroad. I only learned this after our previous move from Washington D.C. Admittedly, in the process of packing, I threw out his prized hockey puck. In my defense, it looked like a regular ol’ hockey puck to me and he hasn...Toss it, Keep i...

A Bride in the Desert. A Southern Belle making the best out of making aliyah. Friday, August 19, 2011. Life Interrupted: Terrorism in the South. As I was busy packing for our move yesterday, a coordinated terrorist attack struck in South Israel near Eilat. Most of the victims were returning from or going to Eliat for vacation. Yesterday, they only wanted a short reprieve from their hectic lives. They only wanted to laugh and relax in the beautiful resort town. Today, they are dead. Im moving from Oregon ...

Longing for Eretz Israel. Saturday, May 5, 2012. I Heart You, PDX. I love you, PDX. Let me count the ways. Portland is so unique. Longing for Eretz Israel. Friday, February 14, 2014. Boys will be Boys A Free Tour of the Old City. In Jerusalem, I had heard of these 'free tours' of the Old City. I thought I would check it out. While going through the unique sections, I would see if there were any major differences in the people that I ran into. Here is my experience and a little practical feedback about 'free tours' in Jerusalem. 1) The Free Tour. A little background on certified guides. Tour guide showed Ambassador So-and-So around.

I am an active duty officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. All views expressed in this blog are my personal views as an individual and not those of the Marine Corps or the Department of Defense. Sunday, August 8, 2010. It's not the heat. The one saving grace about the weather here is of course that it's dry. Usually. The last few days we've had, I heard, 30% humidity, which of course feels like 300% to us. It's mostly passed now. On the upside, it did bring with it some cloud cover - also rare. And eventually...

Monday, May 28, 2012. Israelis commemorate their Memorial Day with an air raid siren that sounds at 11AM. Everyone in the whole country stops what they are doing for a moment of silence. Cars even stop in the middle of the street and drivers get out. If you've never seen it, you should. It will give you chills. Standi...

Newer posts →. December 2, 2009 · 9:47 am. What was everyone talking about? Israeli men seemed to be respectful and friendly, but not overly attentive. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that warnings I received were superfluous. In a parking lot, two men offered me candy and made kissy noises. Everyone was right! How could I have been so naïve? I was officially creeped out. Vowing to be as tough as the Israeli women are to these shameless men, I told a young supermarket employee, “Lo toda! Thinking ...

Sunday, August 19, 2012. Several weeks ago we celebrated Jason's first birthday! As I briefly told you before we have been in quite the whirlwind over the summer and then Trey and I wrapped up the summer last week with a vacation in Aruba. Needless to say I have not had a chance to post on our sweet little man's big day. Heck, we still have to get together with grandparents to celebrate! We have just been THAT busy. A Bride Idea | anecdotes of an old, grouchy wedding photographer

November 11, 2013 · 9:55 pm. Since this is Veterans Day, I have a story about Veterans. While I was in the Army Reserves, I was a paratrooper and a pilot. Somehow, I got involved with Army skydivers who all wanted to be dropped on weekends. I must have dropped hundreds of them! From my point of view it meant taking off and climbing up to about 12,000 feet, dropping about 8 people and then gliding back down to the landing strip.over and over again! My only advice about marriage is, Look before you leap!

Being A Bride

A story of how one bride is learning about 'being' a bride rather than wearing the title of one. Tuesday, February 16, 2010. I read through the complete Twilight. Series in five days. It was a sacrifice for my family since I can be completely swept away by the world I enter through the written word. It is easy for me to lose desire for anything except the knowledge of the fate of the characters I am reading about. But I travailed, as did my family. He had found 'the one' for him. I have heard many women ...
