Random Thoughts of A Proud Centrist. Saturday, February 04, 2006. Farewell Betty and Al. Today, two well known figures passed into the great beyond. Secondly, a great heroine for women in America, we all mourn the loss of Betty Friedan. She was an avowed and activist feminist, who did her best to help mainstream the Feminist movement, by opposing more radical elements in the movement. We recall with great emotion the passing of these two Americans, who had significant impacts on their fellow men and women.

We were to start it off on a good note, with a Presidential inauguration, with good cheer, coming off of a year of ups and downs, we ought to have been on the upswing. Here, then, is to a good 2006. Random Thoughts of A Proud Centrist. Friday, October 28, 2005. Today I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was indicted for five counts of lying. While I believe that lying to a grand jury is serious, I think that there's much worse for the Bush Administration to come. Initially, I am unsure how to react. I make it well known that I openly and avowedly oppose George W. Bush, and would be glad to have any pretense to remove the most corrupt President since Richard Nixon. Schadenfreude. Thursday, June 30, 2005. I truly, truly intend to actually update this blog, and to do say regularly. I also have a Dashboard widget as part of Mac OS X 10.4, with which I can update this. 1) I applaud the Canadian Parliament for passing a gay marriage bill, not because I support the concept (I don't) but because they did it semi-democratically as opposed to through judicial fiat, as we have had in Massachusetts. I am of the belief that if you teach something as science it must pass muster under the Scientific Method. It is clear that Intelligent Design does not meet this criteria. Monday, January 23, 2006. Well, I ran my program without any adjustments (save two) for a Strategic Counsel poll, and I ended up with:. I adjusted Surrey North from Other to NDP and Portneuf from Tory to Independent. I'll report on the veracity of all three predictions (/308 for the seat-by-seat; 'how far was it off' for the other two) on Tuesday.
