Shawn Hinojosa's Accent SXSW Music Blog: March 2009
http://accentsxswmusic3.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 21, 2009. Busy, Tiring. Weekend. So I didn't get to write up Thursday's events. Why? But first things first, Thursday was a blast. I made it to Red 7 in time for Human Highway, the side project of Islands and the Unicorns Nick Thorburn. They played their blend of spacey folk rock for about a half an hour, and while they were absolutely beautiful, they seemed a little out of place by comparison to the rest of the bands. They eventually left the stage to a roar of applause. While Wednesday ...

Accent SXSW Movies 1: NEW WORLD ORDER
http://accentsxswmovies1.blogspot.com/2009/03/new-world-order.html
Friday, March 13, 2009. JFK's killers, controlled demolition of the Twin Towers, all of these subjects are prophesized. Upon in Luke Meyer's and Andrew Neel's new documentary New World Order. It seems the directing duo has a penchant for escapist subcultures, their previous film was Darkon. An interesting look into a group of people that have created a separate. New World Order wasn't disappointing. Clique in quirkiness, but their choice of content is a little trite. Jack McLamb. An isolated ex-cop revol...

Accent Movies 2: St. Nick
http://accentsxswmovies2.blogspot.com/2009/03/st-nick.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Directed by Texas filmmaker, David Lowry, St. Nick. Is a haunting and powerful exploration of childhood innocence and adventure. Is reminiscent of the 1973 Spanish film, The Spirit of the Beehive. 160;often touches on qualities of a modern fairy-tale as the two travel a hard road with transcendent innocence. Instead of the why. Is austere, beautiful, and a fantastic piece of filmmaking. Please go see it, if you have the chance. . Follow theaccent on twitter. SXSW Music blog b...

Saturday, March 14, 2009. Director Ron Mann promised to put the "fun" in fungus. and he certainly delivered. Know Your Mushrooms.
