What comes before ‘BUT’ count for nothing! آنچه قبل از اما میآید، هیچ به حساب نمیآید! معنای این جمله آن است که وقتی شما جملهای در وصف چیزی یا کسی میگوئید سپس انتهای جمله یک اما میآورید، این اما مفهوما جمله قبل از خود را بیاثر میکند! یک مثال قضیه را روشن میکند:. قانون راهگشایی است اما ضمانت اجرا ندارد! مفهوم این جمله چیزی نمیتواند باشد جز اینکه آن قانون اثری ندارد! اما آیا آن قانون واقعا ضمانت اجرا نداشت؟
