MRI Results | The 21-Year Old and Her Tear
https://aclintheknee.wordpress.com/2010/12/26/mri-results
The 21-Year Old and Her Tear. Bending, Bending, Bending. On: December 26, 2010. I returned to the orthopedist 2 days later to hear my MRI results. The news, unfortunately, was not what I expected. I really thought I had just sprained my knee and after a week, I would be back to normal. The MRI showed damage to the following. Complex tear of the lateral meniscus. Sprain of the MCL. Sprain of the fibular collateral ligament (LCL). Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
Post-Op Week 1 | The 21-Year Old and Her Tear
https://aclintheknee.wordpress.com/2011/01/13/post-op-week-1
The 21-Year Old and Her Tear. On: January 13, 2011. Surgery went so well that I can’t remember anything because of the anesthesia! It took me longer to wake up, probably because I’m a small person. Remember to remind your anesthetist prior to being sedated! The IV in my hand wasn’t as painful as I feared. It was actually painless! I took the Vicodin (2 pills) they gave me without the anti-nausea medicine; it definitely helped although I should have taken the latter because I threw up the next few days.

Just another WordPress.com site. Newer posts →. Dangerously close to 1 month. February 14, 2011. Being at roughly the one month mark, I thought I’d add another progress post. As of today (2 days shy of a month), I:. Am walking without my brace 99% of the time (the only time I start to wish for my brace is around crowds or kids). Can bend my leg “comfortably” to 145 degrees…at this point though, I’m really just trying to get my heel to hit my butt. Can walk up stairs normally again! I’m sure there a...

Just another WordPress.com site. Kicking my own a*. 3 Month Update →. Too little, too late…but maybe for the next go round. March 15, 2011. I found myself wondering (as I did my umpteenth squat of the day) about preventative medicine. Are there exercises that generally strengthen or properly align the bits and pieces that went wrong for me in november? In essence, can we train to reduce/avoid the risk of an ACL tear? Fortunately, to avoid my needing to understand things, I can quote:. 8220;We have been w...

Just another WordPress.com site. Too little, too late…but maybe for the next go round. More Informational Blogs →. April 26, 2011. So, 3 months in…it has been a looooong time since I updated the blog. I’m finally understanding why updates on people’s blogs taper off after a month. There are just no exciting things to talk about when you see no drama and experience no big milestones. Heh. Running of the Boston marathon, but probably felt like just as much of an accomplishment to me. Heh. In any ca...A wee...
Vitamins and the recovery process? | the 'bee knee
https://thebeeknee.wordpress.com/2011/01/30/vitamins-and-the-recovery-process
The 'bee knee. An ultimate player and a torn ACL. January 30, 2011. Vitamins and the recovery process? I’m one of those people who avoids taking any sort of medication if I can help it. But for the last month – since a week before surgery – I’ve been taking a seriously amped-up multivitamin. This thing is like an elephant pill, and I hate taking it. I haven’t even really taken vitamins since I was 10. ( These. Maybe this is why my doc told me to take aspirin instead? February 3rd, 2011 at 11:39 pm. Haha,...
