A Cultural Experience

I know I should have been more creative with the title.but oh well. Paris, Rome, Morocco, Family. Friday, December 18, 2009. It's my last night in Spain and it's overwhelming to think about all the stuff I've done and seen. I came in to this experience with no expectations, which in hindsight was the best thing for me to do. I had a chance to view my situation objectively. As of right now, words can not describe how privileged I feel to have had this experience.Goodbye Madrid. Posted by Tiffany Lewis.

A Cultural Experience: The People

http://www.aculturalexperience.blogspot.com/2009/10/people.html

I know I should have been more creative with the title.but oh well. Friday, October 16, 2009. I know its been a while since I've blogged.that's why I had a disclaimer on my profile. The people in Madrid are very diverse and eclectic. Let's begin with my host family. Posted by Tiffany Lewis. October 21, 2009 at 1:42 PM. Haha, Im glad you have a way to work off that delicious food! And I cant wait for you to cook me that traditional meal ;). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A Cultural Experience: October 2009

http://www.aculturalexperience.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

I know I should have been more creative with the title.but oh well. Friday, October 30, 2009. Cuenca, a city a couple hours of Madrid, is rich in history and culture. That's not what I'm going to talk about. CLIFF DIVING is what I will remember most about Cuenca. Imagine trying to fit your body into a uninflated ( yes I make up my own words) balloon.it was a good 20 minute process that included a five minute break once I got the suit over my hips. The water was FREEZING! But he gets to 3 and i jump!

A Cultural Experience: November 2009

http://www.aculturalexperience.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

I know I should have been more creative with the title.but oh well. Thursday, November 12, 2009. I had the pleasure of seeing Real Madrid beat Greece's Pathinaikos. The game didn't have all the glitz and glam of an NBA game, but the energy was much higher. Although there were no cheerleaders, there was a fans section that got the crowd hyped! I tried to learn some chants.but you know me and memorizing lyrics have never gone hand in hand. My noise makers made up for my lack of chants :).

A Cultural Experience: Andulucia

http://www.aculturalexperience.blogspot.com/2009/10/andulucia.html

I know I should have been more creative with the title.but oh well. Saturday, October 3, 2009. We spent about 4 days here. There were many beautiful sites and historical visits BUT the one thing I remember most is our last night there. Some people from my program decided to go to a club and I saw something I never thought I would see in my life. Spaniards doing the Soulja Boy.it was HILARIOUS! Posted by Tiffany Lewis. October 3, 2009 at 1:28 PM. Spanish Soulja Boy is so better than cathedrals. ;).

Skipping Around the World: October 2008

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Thursday, October 23, 2008. Random: I'm sick of eating raw meat. We've had raw bacon and ham a couple times the past couple weeks. However, I'm starting to enjoy pate. And I do not like sauerkraut (spelling? Sorry Bethany. Also, I love this drink called Blood Orange juice and I've searched four stores for it and haven't seen it, but Michelle found a store with it! I'm going tomorrow to get some. Links to this post. Skipping Around the World: Vienna and Caviar

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008/11/vienna-and-caviar.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. I went to Vienna over the weekend to visit Bethany and I had a wonderful time! We walked around a lot of Vienna and I was able to see several cool places. Unfortunately I got sick, but I'm feeling somewhat better now. Bethany has classes in a palace and the place is absolutely gorgeous! I'm kind of jealous. I hope I don't end up with someone who snores. I'm registered for classes! I'm going to Oakland/San Fransisco to visi...

Skipping Around the World: Elections abroad...

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008/11/elections-abroad.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Friday, November 7, 2008. New metro sights: a woman clipping her nails on the metro (crowded with other people), a baby falling asleep with a bottle in his mouth (adorable), and a bunch of little boys waving at me from a metro car (they pointed at me first which I was confused by and then started waving, they went wild when I waved back, also adorable). Don't worry. I had two crepes this week. And some delicious hot chocolate. I got a perfect too, jerk.

Skipping Around the World: Venice... smelly canals and a precious cottage

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008/08/venice-smelly-canals-and-precious.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Venice. smelly canals and a precious cottage. Due to some errors in reserving hostels our group forgot to reserve the nights of the 6th and the 9th. Therefore we're staying an extra day in Berlin and staying tonight in Milan. We're not going to leave our little neighborhood though because we're all pretty tired and we're just going to relax and go on the internet! By the way Justin, how's your ankle? Don't get raped in Prague!

Skipping Around the World: November 2008

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Saturday, November 29, 2008. Tests, papers, and final thoughts, oh my! I had the BIG test for French today. It's worth 40% of my grade, so cross your fingers! The oral test, 20% of my grade, is on Tuesday. Also something funny. During my test the professor climbed onto a table, climbed out of the first floor window, and proceeded to smoke FOUR cigarettes in a row! Only three tests left: the oral, Paris Culture, and Islam in France. Wish me luck! I went...

Skipping Around the World: No crepes? Ridiculous..

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008/10/no-crepes-ridiculous.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Last week was the first week I went without a crepe. How odd. I voted for the first time last week! It was a great feeling. I was really excited (more so than I thought) when I found my ballot in the mail. It's nice to know that in a state like MO I have the ability to make a difference and make my voice heard. I voted for Obama and encourage you to do so as well. I finally went to the grocery store! In other news I did well ...

Skipping Around the World: Only in Paris...

http://skippingaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/2008/09/only-in-paris.html

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Sunday, September 21, 2008. While in Paris I've noticed several things that wouldn't (or just doesn't) happen in the US. Here are a few of them:. Four of the girls in my group from left to right: Tracy, Kirsten, Amanda, and Michelle. Amanda enjoys some wine as we sit along the banks on the Seine River. You can buy cups of wine to go. This car was touching one and had literally two inchs of space on the other side. That Joan girl had it comming. I'm a s...

Skipping Around the World. My travels around Europe. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Two Days in the Life of. I need two days in the life of Emily to show you my life from Monday to Friday. They're all very interesting days, so I'm sure you'll enjoy them (only a tiny little bit of sarcasm). Day One (Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays). These days depend on what I'm doing in the mornings. For instance tomorrow morning I have a trip to the Louvre, a meeting, and an absentee ballot to send before class. From 4:30...

I only just finished the first three weeks of my time abroad out of four months! I really have to go to the bathroom, but I have five minutes left on the internet! I've been holding it for twenty minutes though and I don't think I can last any longer. Until next time my fair companions! Snap, Crackle, Pop your face.' Ally. Due to some ...
