Sunday, March 14, 2010. 3/3/2010 - The Desert Oasis of Hampi. We stopped at a beach town along the way where Nicolas went to a hospital for some antibiotics. The next day he was better and after a bus, two trains and 18 hours we were in the boulder oasis of Hampi. Hampi is a small town of ruins scattered over a landscape of giant boulders, palm groves, banana plantations and rice paddy fields. Thursday, May 20, 2010. 4/19/2010 - Everest National Park. I returned to Kathmandu to get a permit for Everest National Park and some information about the trails. I found out one of the main treks goes to Mt. Everest base camp. I didn't know you could hike to base camp, thinking it was reserved just for people attempting to climb the mountain. Because of the few roads that go up into those mountains most people fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. Which is where the road ends. From Jiri. I arrived in Jiri.
