While my mother, Roxana, and I were struggling in Chile, my mom Lin was overcoming her own struggles. Unable to bear children. She wanted desperately to be a mom. I would also say she was sad. More on that later. Working with Angels Adoption Agency, since closed, she set about adopting a baby. Well, not actually a baby. She preferred a little older. She was scared and alone.

She is a ballerina. She makes me laugh, a lot. 14 is SUCH a fun age. It really is. 14 and innocent. I can't speak for 14 and dating. Or 14 and pregnant. Or 14 and defiant. But 14 and innocent. Anyways, "Abster" as she'll forever be known and I were walking to get her cell phone, which, surprise, surprise, she left at school.
