Scrumptious...: May 2015
http://thescrumptiouslife.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sometimes moments in life can be scrumptious (skrump'shes), adj. extremely pleasing, especially to the taste, delectable ♥. May 22, 2015. I'm now 27 weeks along. The midwife came to our house today. This is the same midwife who helped deliver my sister's past 2 babies and also my friend from church's baby (who was born on May 10th, Mother's day)! We went to meet sweet baby Lydia. My midwife is one who will assist in a home birth. I am planning to give birth to our baby in our home.in water! So, if you ca...

Scrumptious...: September 2014
http://thescrumptiouslife.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sometimes moments in life can be scrumptious (skrump'shes), adj. extremely pleasing, especially to the taste, delectable ♥. September 24, 2014. First day of fall at the apple orchard. Olivia found a pretty apple. We always like when a leaf stays on. By the way, she has a cold sore that is healing up on her lip. We went for a wagon ride. Then, we went into the barn where they store the apples. This is the machine that washes them and sorts them by size. In the cider house:. 1 1/2 cup flour. A dash of salt.

Flowers of the Field: January 2013
http://flowersoffield.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Can you believe that it is nearly February, and still not nearly Great Lent? Funny how all this opportunity for feasting is making my heart ready for the fast. Around us, observant Catholics are getting ready for their Lent. Thinking what to give up, how to go meatless once or twice a week, and how to quiet down and pray more. Rejoice, thou Bride unwedded. Should I go on? O Lord and Master of my life . . . The Bridegroom services, with their beautiful icon and hymns. Behold, ...

Flowers of the Field: Simple and Sublime
http://flowersoffield.blogspot.com/2013/12/simple-and-sublime.html
Monday, December 23, 2013. Here's a Lenten dish. That looks fancy but is easy to make, has a few simple ingredients and magically becomes more delicious as it sits in your refrigerator overnight. It is slices of sautéed eggplant rolled around a carrot, onion and herb filling, and it is so much tastier than it sounds. Try it! One other note - if you are planning to saute the eggplant on the stovetop, then make sure the eggplants you buy are no bigger than your pan, or the center slices won't fit nicely fr...

Scrumptious...: Our plum tree
http://thescrumptiouslife.blogspot.com/2015/07/our-plum-tree.html
Sometimes moments in life can be scrumptious (skrump'shes), adj. extremely pleasing, especially to the taste, delectable ♥. July 27, 2015. Seems like we had too much rain and hot weather,. Many of the plums were starting to grow a white mold,. So we picked all the rest of the good plums. This time quite a few of them tasted ripe and were delicious to eat right off the tree. I made more plum preserves:. 4 cups plums (leave the skin on, it makes it a lovely color). It is good to make ones food! Today was o...

Flowers of the Field: Books and Media, Young People and the Soul
http://flowersoffield.blogspot.com/2013/05/books-and-media-young-people-and-soul.html
Friday, May 10, 2013. Books and Media, Young People and the Soul. Here's something I'm struggling with:. When do you trust that you have instilled enough good principles into your child to let her make her own mistakes in choosing books, movies and other media that can do harm to her soul? Should it be on a case by case basis as young people reach the teen years? When do you simply comment? And when do you prohibit? Do you, in effect, have to skin your knees a few times to learn to ride a bike? Or a freq...
