Adoption Story - Short. Adoption Story - Short. March 30, 2010. We are a couple with a few pets, no kids. We are on the road to adopt from. We actually just finished our Home Study - still waiting for the official signature. We anticipated a referral by late 2010. March 30, 2010. We got a phone call from our agency, asking if we'd consider changing our plans. There were 2 1/2 year old twins from the area who needed a home the next day. March 31, 2010.
