パラフィソルニス（恐鳥）（2015）. 作品サイズ 頭頂高 約23cm(ベース部除く）. いわゆる「恐鳥」と言われる、新生代に現れた大型の地上性鳥類の１種です。代表的なのはフォルスラコス属（私の子供の頃はフォロラコスでしたが、現在は無効名にされているようです）ですが、より大型で復元骨格まである種となると、このパラフィソルニスになってしまいます。大型の恐鳥というとケレンケンやブロントルニスはパラフィソルニス以上の大きさと推測されていますが、頭骨等のごく一部しか発見されていないためか、まだ全身骨格の復元はされていないようです。といっても、パラフィソルニスもどれくらいの化石を元に骨格が復元されたのかは判りませんでしたが。 12539;Alvarenga, Herculano M.
