I'm writing this post a bit late here, so please bear with me while I recall my thoughts. Well, B Sides DFW happened recently and I had just become aware of what B Sides is, so naturally I took interest in it. For the most part, I definitely had some fun and it was quite the learning process as well. I'm sure the majority of the people there new so much more than me, but it was an enjoyable experience, nonetheless. After a few of the tracks and a rather disappointing lunch that consisted of lettuce, toma...

My PiCam and Pi-Glasses. It has been a while since I've had my pi CSI CAM. My original plans were to make somewhat of a baby monitor with the CSI CAM. I had started messing around with python and point recognition so that way I can take a photo of the baby every day in the same position allowing me to see the growth of the baby, but I soon realized that I won't have anything to record since my baby isn't due until December. You can view one of the videos I took on my blog about soldering headers on the F...

Freedom FRDM-KL25Z Adventures Pt1. The Freescale FRDM-KL25Z Platform comes in a nice little package and at a great price, but it does not come with much needed headers for utilizing shields. I'll start my advantures with this board by soldering on the 4 different headers. These are the headers that I ordered:. 2 2X8, 1 2X6 and 1 2X10. Keep in mind, if you have longer headers you can always cut them down to size. Everything seems to be in order and I'm now ready to see what I can do with CoCo and Mbed.

So, just so happens that the day I decide to get some work done on the website, the entire server goes down. Just my luck, right? There are three blogs waiting to be posted up, so, as you realize, this could not have come at a worse time. I'm a bit reluctant to mention what the blogs are about, but I figured I might spare you the agonizing wait and give you a small heads up anyway. Here is the link to that very article: Link. Be sure and support Travis and order yourself a Facedancer! Third on the list i...

SMD soldering the FaceDancer11. A little step by step SMD soldering:. The purpose of this board is to allow USB devices to be written in host-side Python so that one workstation can fuzz-test the USB device drivers of another host. There are also a ton of other cool things you can do with your own Python scripts. First I picked all the big components; 2 Mini USB females, 1 FT232RL(SSOP28), 1 MSP430F2618TPM(QFP64), MAX3420E(LQFP32) and a 12MHz SMD Crystal. Now for the FTDI! Next the 12Mhz crystal -. If ev...
