The Fylde and Wyre Antiquarian: A Quartet of Old Lytham Photographs (or, as the case might be, three old photographs and one greyscale painting)

Wednesday, June 16, 2010. A Quartet of Old Lytham Photographs (or, as the case might be, three old photographs and one greyscale painting). The numerous projects with which we're involved (sleeping, drinking, and eating being some of the top priorities) have, once again, got the better of me so, for the time being at any rate, this board is taking another breather. No doubt we'll be back again before too long. In the meantime the forum's. This is Lytham Hall. (Was that formal enough, do you reckon? Work ...

The Fylde and Wyre Antiquarian: A Brief History of St. Michael’s Church…at St. Michaels (Part Two)
http://wyrearchaeology.blogspot.com/2010/06/brief-history-of-st-michaels-churchat_09.html
Wednesday, June 09, 2010. A Brief History of St. Michael’s Church…at St. Michaels (Part Two). Last week we ended (perhaps a bit abruptly but who’s checking) with a mention of various mediaeval bits of stained glass in the Butler Chapel. The Butler Chapel, itself, was founded in 1480 by John Butler of Rawcliffe Hall. Sticking with the Butler Chapel a bit longer, I’d just like to throw this image into the scrum. We’ve no idea who this is meant to be. Is it some king or other? Whoever it is, there’s a...

Life, needlework and everything. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Working on the Pocahontas wedding jacket. I've been to Williamsburg the last few weekends to work on the jacket mentioned a couple of posts ago. It has been a wonderful experience. So far it has been estimated that well over 300 hours of stitching and over 30 women have worked on the jacket. The design is fantastic! Thursday, February 20, 2014. Life, needlework and everything. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Anniversary quilt and coif update. I received a wonderful surprise in the mail today. A quilt made by my SIL as a 25th anniversary gift for my husband and I. As you can see it is absolutely lovely, and she made it especially with 25 blocks. Cynthia is an incredible quilter and sewer - you can see her work on her blog: Kryotime. BTW, if I remember correctly, the name of her blog relates to one of her other pastimes, drag racing. Life, Librarians...

Wortcunning: May 2010

I know a bank whereon the wild thyme blows, Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows, Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine, With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine: There sleeps Titania some time of the night, Lull’d in these flowers with dances and delight. A Midsummer-Night’s Dream (2.1.260-5). Monday, May 31, 2010. I keep meaning to update about my garden, but forgetting (although I have. This year. I have to change the way I do broccoli if I am to grow it again. I love the way peppers look :).
