Legacy Kennels Training Center: July 2013
http://trainingrascal.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Legacy Kennels Training Center. Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Finally got another day where it was fairly cool (as cool as you can actually ask for it to be in the middle of July) and where it wasn't raining. So since I had already finished all the work at the farm, I decided to pull group 2 out to work with them. These first few training sessions are mainly just to evaluate each individual dog and find out where they are in their training. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There will be prizes!

Wynnes Journey with their Dogs: Agility Dreams.....Agility Champion OBay Tiz Wild

Wynnes Journey with their Dogs. Sunday, 17 August 2014. Agility Dreams.Agility Champion OBay Tiz Wild. I needed a boost very much. The process of working towards Zev's agility title had become harder than I though it would be. I was beginning to doubt myself, even with the prestige of being on Agility Team GB. Too many times there was 'if only' scenarios this year, the competition has gotten tougher and I wondered would all our improvements would ever be enough? Sometimes Agility Dreams Do Come True. .

Wednesday, September 17, 2014. NJ - Day 3 - Ocean City, Beach Day #1. What a wonderful beach day! I LOVE the ocean! Finished off with some fudge. :). Posted by Robb and Carisa. NJ - Day 2. The next day, when Janet got off work, she took me to downtown Philidelphia, where we saw the Liberty Bell, the old congress building where George Washington was president, Betsy Ross' house, and the oldest street in Philidelphia. There was a big tall ship to look at. And I think this was the Betsy Ross bridge. The fir...

He ended the weekend with a perfect score, 100/100, and was the only dog out of all the group that qualified! On Friday, he also got a 2nd leg towards his standard title. Posted by Robb and Carisa. Thursday, July 9, 2015. Big Weekend in Agility. But you know what? The more you do it the easier it gets. You will make mistakes. You will forget things (collar on? You'll hang o...

Monday, January 5, 2015. Agility Dogs and Continuing Education: Clicker Training. My thoughts on Clicker Training since I began learning it:. 2 My dog is scared to death of the click. This will never work. 3 Teach my dog to do something with a box using capturing? She is never going to get this. I wasn't ready to start. 5 I am far too clumsy to manage treats and a clicker. 6 My dog is too fast. She touched her nose to the box! 8 Oh My Gosh! She's IN the box! I taught her to wave! I was so reluctant to tr...

Tuesday, February 18, 2014. A few weeks ago, I took Pico to a "Show and Go" which was held at Medina Swarm Agility Club. Where we have attended many trials. A 'Show and Go' or 'Run Through' is a practice event which is set up like a real trial and is very useful for new dogs or dogs with issues especially because treats and/or toys can be used in the ring. We attended this event primarily to work on Pico's Weaves and his Teeter. During our second event, we had a light bulb moment! Our new class session s...

Wynnes Journey with their Dogs: January 2014
http://wynnesjourneywiththeirdogs.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wynnes Journey with their Dogs. Wednesday, 15 January 2014. It crazy and it hard, when your dog grows old and with Nuts it has been a huge learning curve because he is the first dog, that I have been bless to have a bit longer time with. It is a blessing but it is also a lot of grunt work and sometimes. I worry am I being kind or am I being unfair? I like to think so and certainly hope so. Designed by Maria Johnston of Active Balance-Vetphysio.co.uk. Were 'moist' when that happened. When we first sta...

Monday, September 22, 2014. NYC: Everything's Moving (except for the dogs). Mike and I took the train from Pittsburgh to NYC recently. The ride was peaceful and easy, complete with fully reclining seats and lots of legroom. The train left on time and arrived at each station right on time. The big windows gave us great views of the rolling fields and majestic mountains of Pennsylvania. We stopped in little PA hamlets where life looked idyllic. Thursday, May 29, 2014. I Have a Theory. Pico reminding me that lots of things are possible}. When I say, "I have a theory." Mike says, "Really? It seems I have lots of theories about lots of things because to me, that seems better than thinking I know it all I guess. After last night's surprise Private Lesson, I came up with 2 theories:. 1 Pico needs to learn to work with distractions because he clearly can still run Agility (I was thinking he'd never run a full course again). Plan and follow your lines!
