Ok, that may be a bit extreme, but I honestly missed it a lot. We started the day with the short 1.3 mi hike. Available for rent (they are cute! By the time we finished exploring we had hiked about 8 miles. There were very few trails we didn’t explore and even fewer areas of the park we left without seeing. Posted in Dog Friendly. Summit Hunnies Hike 4: Relay Peak. September 29, 2015. September 29, 2015. Continue to tackle the tallest peaks in the basin. Up now: Relay Peak. Sitting at 10,341′ this is the third tallest. You access this hike from the Mt. Rose trailhead, but follow the signs and spur off. This hike also follows some of the Tahoe Rim Trail, a 165 mile trail which forms a loop around Lake Tahoe. This hike is open, hot and dry. This is pretty much the only water you’ll find on the hike. Summit Hunnies Hike 3: Freel Peak.
