We have now been in Takayama for 2 days and enjoying this different aspect of Japan not experienced in Tokyo or Kyoto. Dinner blew us over. Too many courses to keep track of. We ate many things for the first time: octopus, raw squid, rainbow trout, miniature crab, eel, etc. Some things went down better than others. And that was just the beginning of day 1!
