Nurturing My Inner Me. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Nurturing my inner. tools of the trade. Have you ever had gnocchi? If so, I bet you have one of two views. 1.) It was a light, pillowy, delightful dream. Or 2.) It was akin to consuming grape-sized pouches of lead that sunk to the bottom of my stomach. No one likes to be super full after two bites. So I set out to make the airy and delicate kind. And I'll show you how I did it. 2 lbs of russet potatoes, cooked and riced (more on this later). You might ...

Nurturing My Inner Me. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Nurturing my inner. slice of heaven. One word when spoken softly can generate an immediate sense of warm comfort, evoke sweet memories of days gone by and generally delight a person with endless possibility. That word. is. pie. Mmm, yes, pie. What? You thought I was going to be all sentimental or something? Who doesn't like pie? I'll tell you who - heartless, cold weirdos. That's who! 1 box of Nilla wafers (or graham crackers if you prefer). 1 stick of butter.

Nurturing My Inner Me. Friday, December 30, 2011. Nurturing my inner. small cookie, long name. Here's a quick Christmas "cookie" I whipped up this year for a last minute gathering at my house. Nurturing My Inner Me: March 2012
http://nurturingmyinnerme.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Nurturing My Inner Me. Monday, March 26, 2012. Nurturing my inner. eat out, then eat in. I got to visit a friend in Annapolis recently. If you've never been, you really should put it on your list of must see towns. Lots of little shops by the water. Quaint streets to walk along. Oh, and if you happen to be there in the morning, you'll have to stop and have brunch at Miss Shirley's. It was a super crisp, clear day with plenty of sunshine. Front entrance. Still winter. Craggly tree. The menu was huge!

Nurturing My Inner Me. Sunday, May 22, 2011. Nurturing my inner. tea party. Talk about double disappointment. By the rejection of the master colonizers of said temporarily closed local business from above paragraph, this native New Englander decided to throw a tea party in her home. Tea at the Yank's! It seems that I don't mind making grand plans when I really have no idea what I'm doing.). 1 package sugar cookie dough. 2 packaged cups of vanilla pudding. Various berries/fruits cut up small. I sprayed tw...

Nurturing My Inner Me. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Nurturing my inner. pocket packet. When I saw these on the shelf at my local grocer, my first reaction was, "Hmmm. Pretty close to their natural state. Gems. Links to this post. Sunday, August 21, 2011. Nurturing my inner. fruit fabulous. Lucky for us, it's t...

Nurturing My Inner Me: April 2011

Nurturing My Inner Me. Monday, April 25, 2011. Nurturing my inner. let the chips fall. Some people crave sweets. Others crave salty foods. I'm of camp two. Non exclusively. You of course realize I still love chocolate and desserts, but I seem to be able to better control myself when it comes to candy over chips. (One is more likely to get completely devoured by me in one sitting. Your guess as to which. *crunch, crunch*). Crunchy and satisfying. 55% less fat than chips. That's all from a veggie chip?

Nurturing My Inner Me: October 2011

Nurturing My Inner Me. Monday, October 31, 2011. Nurturing my inner. pork and beans. Mostly when I think about having pork for dinner, I prefer it barbecued. Slow-roasted with a rich, smoky, sweet sauce. Maybe a tenderloin with mashed potatoes. Mom used to make pork chops fairly often, but they always seemed kind of dry to me. So I was off to find a way to cook up some tasty, moist pork. I took my cue from Tuscany. Pork Chops and Tuscan Beans. 2 thick cut pork chops with the bone. 4 fresh sage leaves.
