Sunday, September 30, 2007. Got a couple of videos from Sensei. This one is pretty interesting. It's a clip from a self-defense reel from the 1930's, if you can believe that! There's some discussion in the comments about whether or not this is judo, ju jutsu, or aikido but, really, it's probably a little of all of them since a some of the same techniques show up in all three arts just with different names. After all, there are only so many ways to twist a joint or toss a body, right? Links to this post.

Friday, November 21, 2008. I'm not sure what happened but if anyone comes looking for their photos, I've had to move the albums to a new picasa account. The aikicenter one has disappeared and google wasn't able to retrieve it. I'm not sure what happened but it may have occured when I split my work blogs from my personal one. Thursday, June 26, 2008. I am very happy to announce that Aikido at the Center is back in business! Our classes will meet Wednesdays 2-4 pm and Saturdays 9-10:30 am beginning July 16. We will train at Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu. Located at the corner of Kirby-Whitten and Stage Road. In Bartlett. I don't have any information on pricing at the moment but I will let you know that information as soon as I can. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will send out updates as they are available.

Friday, July 18, 2008. Classes have begun at Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu! Our next class is this Saturday 9-10:30. Also, at noon, there will be an in-house MMA/Muay Thai/Boxing Tournament at the school. Everyone is invited and it is free to watch. It will be a great opportunity to meet some of the other students at the school and affiliated schools and a chance to see a little of what some of the other schools teach. Tuesday, January 22, 2008. We regret to inform you. Well, I have put this off as long as I can so I will make the announcement quick and probably not-so-painless.Aikido at the Center will be closing its doors effective Monday, January 28. However, we won't be going completely away as we will continue training with Aikido Society of Memphis. Which meets at Rhodes. See you later throws. :).
