WhatItIs

Friday, July 12, 2013. A two author book. Read a book last week - called the Rule of Four. The blurb had great reviews by NYT.combination of Umberto Eco and Dan Brown it said. It had a reasonable start, combining an inquiry into history in a collegial setting- youthful, curious, hopeful and stuff. But somewhere in the middle the effect of a single piece of fiction having two authors started to show and I lost interest, though I finally crept to the last page. Wednesday, June 12, 2013. WhatItIs: September 2011

http://www.airspy.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 30, 2011. Of late, I step out from home around 7pm, do all shopping nearby. Fresh vegetables, fresh bread. The kids accompany me on their cycles - some time V rides doubles with S. Its a wonderful feeling to run into to familiar people and shopkeepers. Its really been a long time since I moved here. A little over 5 years. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Oftentimes faces persist like snapshots. Usually happens when I travel alone and care to take in more than just the people I chaperon.

WhatItIs: March 2009

http://www.airspy.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 16, 2009. I am happy to report that Banglore has escaped the effects of global warming for this month. There have been a few spells of magical showers after a hot summer day, so typical of the Bangalore of yore. The full blooms of the Jacaranda trees add to the though that Alls Right with the world. WhatItIs: A trek after a loooooong time

http://www.airspy.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-trek-after-loooooong-time.html

Monday, October 22, 2012. A trek after a loooooong time. To Kudremukh we went. The bus boarded at A2B Jayanagar reached Samse at 7 pm; a jeep ride on a rugged off-road path took us to Mullodi after 6 km. A motley group of around thirty. Ages ranging from 12 to 62! Chilly, windy, misty rainy, we started at 10 AM. The darkness setting in seemed to make the journey even lengthier. Finally by 5:30 pm we reached Mullodi, welcomed by steaming hot cups of tea and Maggi! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

WhatItIs: September 2012

http://www.airspy.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 30, 2012. I craved for detox this evening.all those clamoring thoughts of shopping, craft work, exams, appraisals, EMIs, parking space and what not. That was detox enough. That was an alarm bell sounding to be thankful for all that I have. And not to wish for magic or be a magician myself. One step at a time at all fronts is the resolve. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Friday, June 5, 2009. The prez and af. I must confess i like the new prez. like his choice of words. he speaks a whole lot of sense and it seems it's coming from the heart. like that. cant help make comparisons with the prev prez. whenever that guy zpoke, it was as if he didn't know what he was saying. I am all for anyone who's interested in promoting world peace, not just their own selfish interests. we have had enough of tu tu main main for ages and for no purpose. Where could it have vanished? http://kennybunkportmaine.blogspot.com/2015/08/image-make-overs-are-overrated.html

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Saturday, 8 August 2015. Image Make Overs Are Overrated. This is NOT me, she even spells her name differently, so there. I am getting that familiar Friday evening feeling of being bone tired, but in a good way. However, this I admit. I started the week thinking that I would transform myself a bit this semester. Image Make Over Baby! I kept telling myself. Vaguely defined, I admit, but I had a few thoughts:. Wear sarees more often. I gave a talk outside camp...

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Saturday, 29 June 2013. If you know me in real life, you know that I talk about my age all the time. I know you are annoyed by my tendency to constantly remind you that I am 39 years old (ha! And that I feel my age in my bones blah blah blah. I have a feeling that I am trying to convince myself more than you. I think I like being how old I am. My mum twisted her ankle recently. And no, its not some contagious disease this ankle thing. Nor is it part...In hi...

http://kennybunkportmaine.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Monday, 8 April 2013. So, 39 years old. Seriously, when I was in grad school, especially that bad bad year 2000 when I thought the whole world was against me (I still feel that sometimes, but 2000 was the worst, I swear, because I was living in someone's living room and drinking a lot of ginger flavoured brandy), I was pretty sure I wouldn't make it this far. Ridiculous, I know! The thirties have been great actually - who knew? Links to this post. I was awa...

http://kennybunkportmaine.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Monday, 20 May 2013. As you may have noticed, I returned to base last week. About 8 days ago, to be precise. The Sunday morning we arrived, the child and I thought we would sleep in (we were due to arrive at 4 am at home, it ended up being close to 5:30). Go to the store for milk etc. when we woke up. Slowly get ready for the week ahead. I am thinking that we should push this schedule for a bit more. Especially given that husband person returned last ni...

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Friday, 15 March 2013. It has been a while since I talked about this whole being a mommy deal. I think the last time I complained about how the child liked all things pink (and purple). Well, we have come a long way from there. Now, she calls these two colours 'vile' and 'hurting to the eye' and says they must be avoided at all costs. Her favourite colours are, apparently, blue, and green. The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Thursday, 3 October 2013. Even in the most megalomaniacal mood I couldn't write this in TWCM blog. So here I am. With some not-so-breaking news! I am in decent shape lately, I must say. The hyderabad marathon, where I was the 5 hour pacer, was good. I finished strong. The crazy flyover runs we have been doing in Chennai actually helped a bit. I have reduced mileage since end-August as I am working with a group of beginners training for TWCM,...Of course I s...

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Why Don't I Feel More Bummed Out? Back In March Me Being All Gung-Ho About A Random Sunday Run. The most important growth as a runner is the ability to be positive through injuries, don't you think? And then one day it hit me - BOOM! This wasn't going to happen. It hurt in new and different ways everyday. The pain never really went away though it was never severe enough to wake me up. Finally I did the sensible thing and...He said h...

The blog formerly known as musings from mumbai. Thursday, 30 January 2014. The things we obsess over. We are having these really awesome conversations these days, child and I. I feel a bit embarrassed to document them for public consumption - 'cause I sound idiotic. Oops. Honestly, at times it's a bit frustrating and of course I am always right, you all know that, but still, overall kind of amazing, this ride. Earlier this week, she came back from school with an ink spot on her cheek. I should have r...
