The New Zealand Domestic Goddess. The Student Risotto (also, I’m not dead). As the title (and this post’s existence) shows – I’m not dead and I apologise for not updating in forever but I was working like crazy over the summer holidays in Hamilton and all in all I’ve just been a little spaced. Anyway, tonight, in a fit of poverty, we (me and my sister) raided the cupboards to see what we could throw together for dinner and inspired by this. Post at The Cynical Chef. 8 cups of water. 1 onion finely chopped.

The end is near. February 28, 2008 at 5:35 am Posted in Updates. The end of this months challenge is quickly approaching (you have until Sunday) and let me tell you there are some amazingly delicious entries. I’ve been down and out with the flu so my plans to start baking last weekend were crushed, but I will be stocking up with lots of cinnamon because my baking frenzy starts this weekend. Now, I just need to figure out what next months ingredient should be. Any suggestions? 15 Comments ». However, I...

teatime & tibbits: pie floater
http://teatimeandtibbits.blogspot.com/2008/03/pie-floater.html
Sunday, March 9, 2008. A blog about my limited food journey would not be complete without a mention of the beloved pie floater! The iconic meat pie in pea soup with or without the tasty tomato sauce is either loved or loathed by those who try it. personally, i love it so much that i consider it somewhat of a staple food! About a week back i spied Sydney's version of the pie floater over at Not Quite Nigella. I'm a regular lurker! Have been wanting to try a pie floater for the longest time!

http://teatimeandtibbits.blogspot.com/2008/03/savoury-dumplings-fun-gor.html
Monday, March 24, 2008. Savoury Dumplings - Fun Gor (粉餜). Of course a long-long wkend wouldn't be complete without food! In any case, it's missing 妈妈的味道. so until the next. Day, you'll just have to trust me on this little delicious gem! Would u mind sharing your mom's recipe?

teatime & tibbits: Lipton Green Milk Tea (立顿绿奶茶)
http://teatimeandtibbits.blogspot.com/2008/03/lipton-green-milk-tea.html
Saturday, March 15, 2008. Lipton Green Milk Tea (立顿绿奶茶). That's why i make it my mission to scout these chinese supermarkets for goodies i know people living in asia are taking forgranted! I had high hopes and was not disappointed! Remember, it's best chilled.and great for the heatwave we've been experiencing here. give it a go and let me know what you think! I'll be trying it with powdered milk to see which turns out better in terms of consistency and taste. but in the meantime, enjoy a happy下午茶! I thin...

teatime & tibbits: muffin pizzas
http://teatimeandtibbits.blogspot.com/2008/03/muffin-pizzas.html
Friday, March 7, 2008. Chicken (any left over roast chicken does well with this particular recipe). Mushroom (preferably fresh as it tastes more wholesome but you can do with canned ones like i did). Halve the muffins simply by cutting them down the middle. Remove them and spread a generous amount of sauce over the top. Add desired toppings and sprinkle enough cheese that it covers the whole muffin. Place them back into the oven/grill until the cheese melts through. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Feijoa Cake | The New Zealand Domestic Goddess
https://dunedindomesticgoddess.wordpress.com/2010/05/03/feijoa-cake
The New Zealand Domestic Goddess. Well feijoa season is well and truly upon us here in New Zealand and the two trees in my parents’ back garden has pretty much exploded with fruit. No-one there really eats them (or, at least, they don’t eat THAT many), but Michael loves them so we raided their lawn. Personally, I’m not a fan of feijoas so I came up with the idea of (what else? Making a cake out of them. 75g butter, softened. 1 cup mashed feijoas. 1 tsp baking soda. 2 cups plain flour. 1 tsp baking powder.
