After a day of museums and walking around the sights, we headed out to sample some local brews at Villi Waino. Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Now I understand the Revolution. A day at Pushkin and you begin to fully comprehend what sparked the Revolution. Alicia is our new Polish friend. For our second day in Russia we navigated the subway and bus system to arrive in the town of Pushkin and see Catherine's Palace. And then the lines began. 1 Line to purchase ticket to get into the gardens. 150 roubles each. 2 Line to get into the Palace. 3 Line in the Palace to purchase an entry ticket. 400 roubles each. On our way home.

Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Good night and Good bye, Russia. As we prepare to check another country off the list, I reflect on our time in this vast country. A couple observations:. 2 Young travelers from other countries are so more well educated in languages than we are. Nearly all of them are trilingual if not more. Their English knowledge includes slang and distinguishes among British and American pronounciations. 5 Faithful leave whole cigarettes and coins as they pray at road side monuments in Siberia.

Monday, May 5, 2014. Finnish people are very nice. Nearly everyone speaks English as the schools teach Finnish, Swedish, and English. The food is delicious. Octopus, salmon, and sausages have been some of our highlights. The local markets feature local vegetables at a significant price increase from those imported from Spain. The salmon (huge!
