Go green bacteria, go! The original concept of the bio.display project was to create a dynamic display made of genetically modified fluorescent bacteria. The installation, though consisting of millions of living organisms, would act as display, a screen – something we’re used to see from machines. The bio.display project is done under the Artist in Residence program of The Arts and Genomics Center. Leiden, the Netherlands, and in association with the Waag Society FabLab. Last Thursday we performed the first set of DNA transformations with a small circle of friends, Ferenc Szalai, Attila Nemes and András Márton Juhász. this was a basic test of the lab to prove if multiple people can work in it together.
