New and Improved Moonglass Cover - Notes in the Sand
http://beachjess.livejournal.com/1314.html
Notes in the Sand. New and Improved Moonglass Cover. Oct 7th, 2010 at 3:36 PM. So far, one of the best experiences I've had in the publication process was seeing my cover because it made it feel real. Now, I'm even happier to unveil the revised version of the cover, which shows Anna with blond hair (as she's written), and even has little sparkles of sea glass in the sand! Now, it really couldn't be more perfect, and that is thanks to designer Krista Vossen at Simon and Schuster. Thank you, thank you!

The First Day of School is Tomorrow - My Life As Yzz
http://yzzzzzzz.livejournal.com/83962.html
My Life As Yzz. Just gotta keep livin, man, L-I-V-I-N. The First Day of School is Tomorrow. But that's irrelevant to me. Have a good senior year, everyone. Please. All I'm going to see on facebook for the next 24 hours are school-related posts. Maybe I should go back to sleep. I sing songs about the past. How I was raised, and I was thrown out on my ass because I didn't care about going to school. The best artists do not need school. 2nd-Sep-2010 01:24 am (UTC). I just wanted to say, that you'll be fine,...

Bookanista Thursday! - Notes in the Sand
http://beachjess.livejournal.com/2814.html
Notes in the Sand. Feb 9th, 2011 at 9:45 PM. It's my great pleasure this week to review a fellow Elevensie novel! Two weeks ago, I was browsing my local bookstore and there it was, prominently displayed, face out in the YA section, and I probably scared the poor kid next to me with how excited I got when I saw it. I don't think it'll ever get old seeing friends' books out there like that. Sowithout further adieu, here it is! XVI by Julia Karr. I think the best thing a dystopian novel can do is make you.

All the World’s in Words. Coming Together for Change. Research in the modern age →. April 20, 2015 · 8:21 pm. Once again, I’ve let too much time go by without letting you know how my little readers are doing. In a word, terrific. And I really shouldn’t call them little. They wouldn’t appreciate it. He has also made a slow start on Joseph Delaney’s Revenge of the Witch. I regularly peruse A-Read’s bookshelves to see what he has finished that can now be passed on to Sprite. Quite a lot, as it turns out.

All the World’s in Words. Katniss and the Importance of Relationships. July 21, 2015 · 7:33 pm. Well, gosh, I sure didn’t mean to let almost 2 months go by without a post. But here’s how that happened:. A bunch of my freelance nonfiction projects for kids published. I tried my hand at ghostwriting. (Yuck. No more.). Experimentally queried a middle grade project with too narrow an audience. Personal and family health issues. Work has been overwhelming. Staff move or go to grad school and I fill in. You ar...

All the World’s in Words. Summer update →. June 1, 2015 · 7:00 am. Katniss and the Importance of Relationships. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about character. What makes a good character? How do you balance a character’s flaws with the qualities needed to move the plot along? What makes a character likable (or, better word, relatable)? What does likable really mean anyway? People can tell you how to create relatable characters, over and over and over. But sometimes you have to see it for yourself, ...
