Coloring Outside the Lines. Laquo; Eye Candy. Two baby quilts finished. August 10, 2015 by KrisR. This last weekend we had three Buddhist monks in our small community creating a mandala to bring peace. They offered a guided meditation with Buddhist nun Ani Pema each morning and I was fortunate enough to be able to go on Saturday. After the guided meditation, the 3 monks did a chanting meditation prior to getting to work on their mandala. Posted in Totally unrelated to quilting. What gorgeous work. It...

2muchfun: Luck and Money
http://eileenmcgee.blogspot.com/2013/01/luck-and-money.html
Is what I have when I'm creating. January 1, 2013. The popular way to prepare the black-eyed peas is to cook a pot of Hoppin' John,. And the greens are usually collard greens or mustard greens. Today I was curious about the history of these two traditions. I found out the practice of eating black-eyed peas dates back to the Civil War. Plentiful as the new year approached, and being green symbolize money. I wish all of you (y'all) a year of luck and money in 2013. 1/3/13, 7:06 PM. View my complete profile.

Is what I have when I'm creating. April 11, 2013. Bread Tag Wedding Dress. Now this is what I call "thinking out side the box" or "bag". Stephanie Watson. Of Australia made her wedding dress out of 10,000 bread tags she collected over 10 years. I can't imagine how many sewing machine needles she went through by the time the dress was completed. Kudos to her though, the dress looks lovely. I love the grooms' hat! Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Is what I have when I'm creating. January 3, 2013. Stash and a kick in the rear. Last night, while reading some of the quilting group messages and blogs I subscribe to, I came across a couple of groups I have decided to join. I am hoping to whittle down my stash again and give myself a kick in the rear to finish the UFO's I have. I thought the Block Lotto. I think the Project: UFO 2.0. Group will give me the incentive I need to finish the projects that have been put on the back burner too long.

http://quiltdesignsbysandy.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Quilts, Longarm Quilting, Fabric Creations. Saturday, November 23, 2013. A quilted Christmasy quilt. Today's quilt is one I quilted for my friend, Susan. The pattern is called Wrap It Up and we made it in a class at our LQS. It uses just three colors, but has a nifty interlocking "box" look. She used black with beautiful gold metallic swirls, red with gold dots and black with gold dots. Christmasy, but not too christmasy. A berry grouping with a flourish. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. It's crazy how the q...
