I love my library card.: My Woodson Experience
http://salenabooks.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-woodson-experience.html
I love my library card. Saturday, November 6, 2010. I have read one of Jacqueline Woodson’s books, The House You Pass on the Way. But, I have also experienced a thoughtful discussion about the other books she has written. She has quite a few similarities in her writings. The one that I found most common was an interracial relationship in the majority of her books. And going off that idea, she frequently has characters that are multiracial. When her characters are multiracial, she does not keep this hidden.

The Reading Railroad: NOT A BOX
http://jbertog.blogspot.com/2010/11/not-box.html
Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Title: Not A Box. Summary: A small bunny proves that there is no limit when it comes to imagination. The story shows that a simple box can be anything from a race car to a rocket ship. I remember growing up, my next door neighbor and I built a box fort that was quite the envy to the rest of the cul-de-sac. It had levels and seemingly endless potential as it could shift from a space shuttle to a castle with a blink of an eye. This book transported me back to those days.

This is a re-telling of Hans Christian Anderson’s classic The Princess and the Pea. The illustrations in this book are lovely. They are so soft, detailed, and colorful you fall right into the story.
