They are particularly at home in suburban yards and even venture into the City of Albany at times. More often that not I find these birds in winter in empty Wood Duck. Whenever I see a Wood Duck.

Collins Lake, Scotia, Schenectady County — October 5, 2014. This field trip was sponsored by the Alan Devoe Bird Club. A NYSYBC Partner. Many thanks to ADBC and especially to our trip leader, Bill Cook. For his time and expertise in organizing and leading this trip. The day started out chilly at 42 degrees! But it warmed up to 58 by lunchtime, and we enjoyed plentiful sunshine with no wind. Another rare sight for Scotia was crowds of people! List of Birds Seen on this Trip.
