Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer

Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer. Sunday, November 25, 2012. Long Time, No Blog. It seems like it's been forever, old friend. I've been super busy. For some reason, I'm back working full time. I took on coaching in Arctic Village and Venetie. Then, when mentoring in Fairbanks came open, I applied and low and behold, I was hired. It was less than half time, mind you. But the combination makes it really intense. Posted by Shade Hopper. Links to this post. Saturday, July 21, 2012. I found out I'll be worki...

Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer: Teaching in Alaska?

http://alaskamentorpat.blogspot.com/2012/05/teaching-in-alaska.html

Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer. Saturday, May 5, 2012. This is the time of year when teachers jump from job to job. I always meet people who say to me, "I've always wanted to come to Alaska. Could I get a job? Alaska is open for business. But be forewarned. There is NO easy job in education. If you are considering coming to Alaska to teach in a village, you'll either love it or leave it. Here's my advice to you. Check out the EED website to see what you would need to be certified. Simplify. In vil...

Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer. Sunday, June 10, 2012. Not all thunder is from lightening. Once again, the sky is thundering. Every afternoon for the last 2 weeks, there has been a quick and productive storm which is keeping everything green. Today I brought it on by hanging clothes on the line. Posted by Shade Hopper. Hey, walking 5 miles is nothing to feel bad about! I am overweight too and I can barely walk three miles! Also, dont get sick when you run through the rain! July 8, 2012 at 9:38 PM.

http://alaskamentorpat.blogspot.com/2012/07/back-at-it.html

Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer. Saturday, July 21, 2012. I found out I'll be working in schools again next year. In fact, I'll be going to Venetie and Arctic Village, split one week a month. My work will be partnering with the principals to collaborate on school improvement. It's challenging work and it depends on an honest dialog to examine current practice to see what to keep and what to change. Posted by Shade Hopper. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer: Planting more than flowers

http://alaskamentorpat.blogspot.com/2012/06/planting-more-than-flowers.html

Warmth in Winter, Shade in Summer. Saturday, June 9, 2012. Planting more than flowers. My husband flew off tonight to California to visit his 93 year old mother. I'll be joining him in a few days and then we'll hitch a ride with in-laws Carol and Dave up to Walker Pass to resume our Pacific Crest Trail journey north. I'll be on the trail with him for about 7 weeks, hoping to get as far North as Burney Falls. Posted by Shade Hopper. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sticker shock for gas in Ft. Yukon.

Sunday, September 23, 2012. So I decided to change the title of my blog to something a little less cheesy. It may not be as glamorous as other blogs out there, but I'm not a literary genius by any means.
