The One-Thousand: Some Things Old Are New Again
http://theonethousand.blogspot.com/2015/08/some-things-old-are-new-again.html
Sunday, August 09, 2015. Some Things Old Are New Again. I haven't been working a lot on new fiction the last couple of months. What I have been doing in the non-Mango fiction world is rewriting old stories so as to give them a better chance in the cold cruel editorial world. I don't know if I've made these stories great, but I do know I've made them a hell of a lot better than they were. I still haven't finished MuchoMangoMayo! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Enjoy My Work. ENJOY IT!

The One-Thousand: June 2015
http://theonethousand.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. My Genius Isn't Drippy Enough. I decided to start listening to one of the voices in my head. I'm going to start mowing the roof. No, not actually. When I finish a story I'm hot to get it out into the world. I see flaws in it, and think, "Yeah, but look at all the genius in there. That'll drip down and fill in all the flaw cracks. Art isn't finished, it's abandoned. I need to move on to the next story.". I've never been good at sacrificing now for something better later. If y...

The One-Thousand: February 2015
http://theonethousand.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Just finished and shipped off story 155 of The One-Thousand! If I had any hair, I'd be able to feel the wind in it! This one was a shortie that I conceived of yesterday and finished today. It's a story that would be perfectly at home at Beware the Hairy Mango. Though it's twice as long as most of those) and I'm sending it to a very non-Mango magazine. Actually, every. Magazine is a very non-Mango magazine. Links to this post. Beware the Hairy Mango. Tales From The Computerbank: June 2013
http://jameslecky.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 1, 2013. While Tales From the Computerbank has been a fun thing to do, I've been very remiss with my blogging of late. So. in an attempt to kickstart things again I'm moving my blogging activities across to Wordpress (although there should be a thank you to Blogger and possibly one of those "it's not you. it's me." kind of conversations into the bargain). New random thoughts and ramblings can be found at http:/ jameslecky.wordpress.com. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Kings of the Night. Nephi...

Tales From The Computerbank: James Herbert RIP
http://jameslecky.blogspot.com/2013/03/james-herbert-rip.html
Thursday, March 21, 2013. I've just found out, via the BBC, that the British horror/ dark fantasy author James Herbert has passed away at the age of 69. In the UK, certainly, he was one of the writers responsible for the horror boom of the 1970s and 1980s with such novels as The Rats and The Fog which were, in many ways, the forerunner of Splatterpunk, with their graphic depictions of violence (although, as Herbert himself pointed out, they were never as graphic as people assumed them to be). James Lecky...

Tales From The Computerbank: Ray Bradbury 1920 - 2012
http://jameslecky.blogspot.com/2012/06/ray-bradbury-1920-2012.html
Thursday, June 7, 2012. Ray Bradbury 1920 - 2012. One of the giants of science fiction and fantasy, Ray Bradbury has passed away at the age of 91. Author of, among many others, The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, Something Wicked This Way Comes and innumerable classic short stories, Ray Bradbury was - and continues to be - a guiding light of science fiction, often moving the genre away from its 'rockets and ray guns' roots, although equally often at home using the familar tropes of the genre.

Tales From The Computerbank: Lemuria, Here We Come...
http://jameslecky.blogspot.com/2012/02/lemuria-here-we-come.html
Saturday, February 4, 2012. Lemuria, Here We Come. I'm going back to my roots, reading wise, this month. In practical terms this means reading a heapin' helpin' of sword and sorcery. I've had Lin Carter's Thongor and Brian Lumley's Primal Land series sitting on the shelves for a few months now, and the time has come to get stuck into them. Still, the fact is that the genre that refused to die has, quite simply, still refused to die. Hence my delve back into its history. Lemuria, here we come. Ill check i...

Tales From The Computerbank: December 2012
http://jameslecky.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 8, 2012. Is now up at Swords and Sorcery and you can find it at. Http:/ www.swordsandsorcerymagazine.com/story-2.html. As I've mentioned before, it's the first in what I hope to be an ongoing series of tales involving the two central characters - Varus, a Roman legionary displaced in both time and space, and Barcaradin, a sorceror without a soul. It's been a while since I've written any 'pure' S&S, so it's nice to see this one out and about in the world, hopefully folk will like it.
