The Alberg 30 Project: July 2015

The Alberg 30 Project. The (slow) Restoration of a 1964 Alberg 30, hull #48. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Settees, Galley, and Ice box/Nav. It's amazing how many steps it takes to cut one piece of wood to fit within the contours of a boat's geometry - especially when the power tools are on the ground and the measurements and fitting are within the boat (via a rickety ladder). I've had this project for ten long years already! Had I not been so hot and sweaty and covered in sawdust, I could have taken a nap.

The Alberg 30 Project: August 2015

The Alberg 30 Project. The (slow) Restoration of a 1964 Alberg 30, hull #48. Sunday, August 30, 2015. This and that…and back to school. Today was a hodgepodge of tasks, most of them fairly small but all part of moving ahead. I glassed in the vertical supports for the settee backs and cut a bulkhead for the under-sink galley area. Glassing it in had to wait because I have some sanding to do in that area first. Friday, August 21, 2015. Port shelf done - glassing next. I also installed a 1x2 cleat along the...

Westsail 32 Hull #667: December 2012
http://westsailstory.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Westsail 32 Hull #667. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. I used a hand scraper, something similar to this. But without the high price tag, and found the removal very easy. I will spend, hopefully, very little time with the random orbital to clean up the balance of the bottom. Time Today: 3.5 hours. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Adventures of Salacia: June 2014
http://svsalacia.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Adventures of an Alberg 30 named Salacia and her crew. Boat - Alberg 30. Monday, June 23, 2014. As I lay in bed last night I was considering what can I do to regain control and the answer is quite simple. Focus.focus on one thing at a time. Wheel house of the ferry where I've been deck-handing; hope to be the captain soon : ). Paddle wheel of the ferry. They are relatively small ferries (67 tons,150 passengers) but they will be a good starting ground for working as a paid captain. Alberg 30s on YouTube.
