The process often begins with sketches as a starting point, the dolls then evolve as they are stitched and patchworked together. The dolls can be framed in custom-made hinged glass boxes which can open at the front, or they can be left unframed. Dolls are made to order, so it is best to allow between 2-8 weeks for your creatures to be made, if you have a specific date in mind, please discuss this with Alice.

Growing up in Somerset with artist parents, Kate and James Lynch, Alice scoured fleamarkets with a magpie's instinct for curiosities to inhabit her fairytale world. She trained in Fashion Design at Kingston University, London, then worked as a designer in Paris for John Galliano, Christian Dior and Sonia Rykiel. Alice Mary Lynch is a Doll Maker and Fashion Designer. She grew up in Somerset with artist parents, Kate and James Lynch. After training in Fashion Design at Kingston University, she travelled to Paris where she worked as a designer for Sonia Rykiel, John Galliano and Christian Dior, honing her craft of beading embroidery and embellishment in their studios. After having children, she decided to concentrate on making her dolls which are inspired by dreams, cabaret sparkle and the strangeness of nature.
