Ali MC is a Melbourne-based musician, writer and photographer who grew up in both Australia and New Zealand and has traveled through over 30 countries. As well as working in Indigenous history and legal services, Ali is currently studying a Master of Laws. It’s amazing what you can do with mud: ‘beehive’ houses in Harran, near the Turkish/ Syrian border. After travelling through southern Turkey I finally reached the Syrian border. At this time (September, 2006) Syria had been supporting Hezbollah in their fight against Israel, and was roundly condemned as being part of the ‘Axis of Evil’.
