A Horse for Christmas...: September 2011
http://ahorseforchristmas.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
A Horse for Christmas. Friday, September 16, 2011. 8/10/11, Antrim Coast. At Giant's Causeway. hanging on for dear life! We wondered and wandered and took pics for about 2 hours, then we headed up the road about 4-5 km to Carrick-a-Rede, the rope bridge. Self-timer shots with the Giant's Boot! Kat cheated death to get these shots. I'm not looking down! Right at the time we were at the bridge, we had the only bright sunshine of the day. The entire place was indescribably beautiful. Heavens. You can't ...

A Horse for Christmas...: August 2011
http://ahorseforchristmas.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A Horse for Christmas. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Friday, August 5, Doolin to Galway. Kathryn setting up the perfect shot. Going the wrong way. So we did ANOTHER u-turn, drove through the town a third time, and finally was en route to the Burren! Aka it's really old. The huge rock formation stands on the Burren, where crevices have slowly been formed by rainwater and small, hardy plants grow up between the rock. We wandered around a bit, took some pictures (what else? These pictures make me so happy.

studio adventures: WIP Wednesday
http://studioadventures-susan.blogspot.com/2014/09/wip-wednesday.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2014. WIP (works in progress). Another Heather Ross collection, this time Briar Rose. I had big ideas to make up the collection in Tula Pink’s City Sampler. I started making the 6” blocks months ago and only managed to make 16 of the 100 blocks. Yesterday I looked at those 16 blocks and decided to add borders and sashing and make a 40” baby quilt. Almost done. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Davidson, NC, United States. View my complete profile. A stitch in dye.

studio adventures: Eco Garland
http://studioadventures-susan.blogspot.com/2010/11/eco-garland.html
Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Since the paper is painted on both sides, the garland is reversible. I’m not finished with this idea yet. I see a lot more possibilities. 03 November, 2010. studio adventures: Ticker Tape Quilt
http://studioadventures-susan.blogspot.com/2013/07/ticker-tape-quilt.html
Saturday, July 20, 2013. After seeing this quilt technique in Sunday Morning Quilts. And Amy Gibson’s blog. I knew I had to make one. My inspiration was a quilt from Sunday Morning Quilts. And this quilt from Amy Gibson’s blog. I had fun making this even if I did sew through my fingernail twice and experienced having the needle graze my finger another time. Living dangerously…. 20 July, 2013. Cute quilt. Are they frayed edge pieces sewn down? 20 July, 2013. 24 November, 2015. Davidson, NC, United States.

studio adventures: Fabric Fast Update
http://studioadventures-susan.blogspot.com/2014/06/fabric-fast-update.html
Friday, June 20, 2014. At the end of June I can resume my wanton ways and purchase fabric. With one instagram exception I have bought no fabric. I have turned away from the lure of emails, blogs, twitter and instagram announcements of new fabric lines and sales, and it has not been easy. How have I done it? 1 I’ve been busy. 2 I’ve made some scrap quilts. This one measures 54” X 72” and will be made for a hospice resident through our church’s Wrapped in Love program. 3 I've organized my fabrics. From a l...

studio adventures: Friday Finish
http://studioadventures-susan.blogspot.com/2014/11/friday-finish.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. I finished quilting the quilt for the wrapped in love group at my former church. I was really pleased with how it turned out. I didn’t select the colors or fabric, the color genius Connie took care of that. I didn’t even pin baste it, I just did the free motion quilting and bound it. It was densely quilted. Here’s how I block a quilt:. The blocking helps to flatten out the lumps that come from dense quilting and somehow, the fibers remember to stay flat in subsequent washings.

A Horse for Christmas...: February 2012
http://ahorseforchristmas.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
A Horse for Christmas. Sunday, February 12, 2012. My goods from Home Depot. Doc and his escape-proof fence! As a results, my new home improvement project - fix the fence! Why don't I just ask for help? Today my favorite friend Nick (I tell him he's my favorite when I need help with home projects) came by to help put up the fence. It was so easy! I'm a terrible hammer-er, so many dents were left in the fenceposts, but we all survived! Now my little Houdini is safe again in the backyard. Catching Up, part 4.

A Horse for Christmas...: Home improvements!
http://ahorseforchristmas.blogspot.com/2012/01/home-improvements.html
A Horse for Christmas. Saturday, January 28, 2012. So I was lazing on my couch this morning perusing Pinterest. My first mistake. Suddenly, I saw a GREAT idea for a little fun with my front door. I already had all the paint, so I quickly sprang into action - A few minutes later, here was my finished product! All I did was take some leftover blue paint from my TV stand and paint the edges of the front door. Adds a little extra fun:) I shouldn't be so excited, but I LOVE it! Some of the "stuff"? Love, love...
