A proposal we think is dangerously wrongheaded. The most cost-effective action our nation can take to significantly reduce greenhouse gases is to build the Steel Interstate System. Restoring air and Water Quality. Burning less diesel fuel reduces air pollution. Less highway construction limits water pollution. Saving energy and fuel banks these resources for future generations, AND makes a cleaner environment, NOW. Rail supports better land use than highways, and a landscape better for all creatures.
