http://www.thedangergarden.com/2015/05/garden-bloggers-bloomday-for-may-2015.html
Friday, May 15, 2015. Garden Blogger's Bloomday for May 2015. Here we are, half way through May! Too fast, it's all going too fast. Don't you agree? Yesterday I jokingly said to someone that August is going to be here before we know it. Then I realized it wasn't a joke. So.it's May, let's see what's blooming. These are the first blooms I remember seeing on my Amsonia hubrichtii. The common name threadleaf bluestar makes more sense now. Styrax japonica, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways. Solomon's...

Friday, January 30, 2015. My favorite plants in the garden, for January 2015. It's that time again, the end of the month (January is over! And a wrap-up post of my favorite plants in the garden. This beauty, Acacia baileyana 'Purpurea'. Took my breath away while I was working in the shade pavilion greenhouse (written about yesterday. Those leaves, those tiny yellow pom-pom blooms. Is a little more realistic, although in their written description they then say 15-20F (nurseries never can agree it seems!

danger garden: April 2015
http://www.thedangergarden.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. A visit to Walter Andersen Nursery in San Diego. It looks like I'm on a bit of a California nursery roll, Tuesday we visited San Gabriel Nursery. Near the Huntington Gardens, today we're headed back down to San Diego and a stop at Walter Andersen. A family owned nursery dating back to 1928. This nursery was on my list thanks to a recommendation by the man behind this garden. I'm still not in love with the staghorn ferns. They had a nice selection, for those who are. Today we're ...

danger garden: Stinky, but fascinating...
http://www.thedangergarden.com/2015/08/stinky-but-fascinating.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. Stinky, but fascinating. Stapelia are low-growing succulent perennials predominantly from South Africa, with a few coming from other parts of Africa. I picked my Stapelia up during the spring 50% off sale at Digs Inside and Out. I had an empty hanging container and thought it’s sea creature-like appearance would be a fun addition to the garden. I never dreamt it would bloom, that wasn’t even a consideration when purchasing. But it is! But by 10:00 this is what I found…. About a ha...

danger garden: Marion Jarvie’s Garden
http://www.thedangergarden.com/2015/08/marion-jarvies-garden.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Marion Jarvie’s Garden. This was the one private garden on the Toronto GB Fling for which we were given the go-ahead to name the owner, Marion Jarvie. It turns out she’s quite the advocate for gardening and is very active in the Toronto gardening community; lecturing and teaching at the Toronto Botanical Garden. As you can see we bloggers immediately fanned out across her garden snapping photos. There was a lot to focus on. Case in point, a trio of spiral Aloes, A. polyphylla.
