An Allotment in Slough. March 16, 2008 at 8:17 pm · Filed under Carrots. I really want to grow carrots this year because we (husband and 3 children) eat so many. Carrots are the only vegtable my 4 year old will eat (only eats them raw) so I’m going to try again. Normally when I’ve grown them they’ve been about 3 inches long and forked. Couldn’t stay out for too long though because it was cold – yesterday was so nice compared. Back to work tomorrow -so no more gardening till next weekend. 25th March 08 -P...

The following 3 pots germinated by Tuesday 25th March. Gardeners delight cherry (brown round pot). Incas Plum (black sqaure pot). Sungold cherry (these are amazingly sweet)(orange round pot). Sungold (these were old seeds – but my favourite as so sweet). The Kitchen ga...

An Allotment in Slough. 25th March 08 -Purple Sprouting brocolli. March 25, 2008 at 4:02 pm · Filed under Brocolli. This is supposed to be very tasty – however it has a very long growing season – usually sown April-July and harvested in January-March the following year. Which is why it’s not usually sold in supermarkets. Rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to 25th March 08 -Purple Sprouting brocolli" class="permalink" Permalink. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Onions | An Allotment in Slough

https://allotmentinslough.wordpress.com/2008/03/21/onions

An Allotment in Slough. March 21, 2008 at 12:25 pm · Filed under Onions. This year I’ve planted some standard white/yellow onions (Sturon) around mid Feb and Red onions (Karran) a week after the Sturon. The two beds below with floorboards around them are where I have planted the onions. I’ve also got a few shollots in the beds – which I haven’t grown before. Last year I planted the onions later and I feel with all the rain in the summer months -they didn’t get a chance to develop properly and rotted.

Update 14 March 2014 | Allotment 5½

https://allotment5andahalf.wordpress.com/2015/03/14/update-14-march-2014

Vegging out in North Devon. Update 14 March 2014. Sad news that we’ve experienced another round of thefts from sheds. Meanwhile, I’ve dug about one-third of the plot and started to warm up the earth in preparation for planting out onion sets. (And, garlic, once the bulbs arrive.). I’ve got potatoes ready to go, but I’m a bit concerned that frost is still a risk so will wait another couple of weeks before plating. The Allotment Journey

Monday, 1 July 2013. We have a greenhouse. Finally got a greenhouse. Purchased from Ebay for £41. Had a nightmare dismantling it as the guy i brought it off gave me duff info on the tools i needed to take it down then he cleared off and left Arleya and me to it. On top of that it heaved it down with rain and we got soaked. I ended up having to bend and fold aluminium frame to ram it into my car. Also managing to pierce the vinyl on my car door and dashboard. grrrrr. Follow me on Twitter @clearseaz. Great...
