http://vickymartineau.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
My "awfully big adventure" here in Ecuador. Tuesday, 30 August 2011. What to do with the time that is given us? Can I be the same? I'm reading one of my favourite books at the moment "Lord of the Rings" and this quote has helped me:. I wish it need not have happened in my time". So do I.and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.". Links to this post. Thursday, 25 August 2011. But you know what? Nearly e...

http://vickymartineau.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
My "awfully big adventure" here in Ecuador. Wednesday, 29 June 2011. God and I don't always have the same timetable. Well what an afternoon! As you may know I have been struggling recently with work. I am still in the school for disabled children and they certainly keep me on my toes but I also want to do more. I was meant to be doing womens' work but the lady who was leading the work has fallen ill so it's been put on hold. The youth group I was going to help out with seems to have stopped meeting!

I, in my youthful innocence, had expected it to be some kind of zoological park but no, the Iguanas are just wandering about a normal park. So weird but very cool! Links to this post.

Ecuador adventures: September 2011
http://vickymartineau.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
My "awfully big adventure" here in Ecuador. Thursday, 29 September 2011. My work in Laura Flores is the highlight of my week! I always leave exhausted, hot, sweaty and mentally drained but I wouldn't miss it for the world. On Thursdays I give massages to the women of LF. I'm in a new room now, a classroom, which still has no windows or privacy and has the public toilet in the same room as me .but I do have an electric light and no dogs come wondering in. Hooray! Links to this post. My week so far. For Go...

Ecuador adventures: March 2011
http://vickymartineau.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
My "awfully big adventure" here in Ecuador. Wednesday, 30 March 2011. Shake that money maker! There was a slight timing issue the other day so we didn´t go to our dance class. We went this morning instead. What an experience! To start with my outfit hadn´t been improved unpon so I did end up in my pyjama bottoms which is not a good look for the gym. Latin dancing is very different to Europeans. Our time seemed to involve a LOT of pelvic thrusts and shaking my "booty" and assests! Links to this post.

On Monday Claire, Amy and I got the bus (8 hours, 2 buses and crowds of people! Very laid back Ecuadorian lifestyle. We went for a lovely long walk along the beach. Ecuador adventures: Los Tsachilas
http://vickymartineau.blogspot.com/2012/02/los-tsachilas.html
My "awfully big adventure" here in Ecuador. Thursday, 2 February 2012. This morning started in true Ecuadorian style when William (my host dad&pastor) banged loudly on my door at 9.03 and shouted "ready to go? No I was not ready to go! Pack a bag and make a frantic phone call to speed up Amy and be out my room in 5 minutes. Once we were all dressed, fed and then suitably delayed we were off! Crushed Achiote seeds which they pain their hair with. Us having a try. PS For anyone who has written to me and wo...
