Over the long term, Lake Almanor real estate has increased in cost (and hopefully value) by quite a bit. We have been discovered, and when compared to any reasonable vacation refuge of similar quality, Lake Almanor was a steal. It's still a good deal, but when I write this as of late August 2015, if you were looking for the bottom of the market, you missed it again.

January 2005 brought lots of snow. This is our deck and view facing the lake. We took over 4 1/2 feet of snow between Christmas and New Years. There is a golf course out there somewhere in this January 2005 picture. This was the only clear day between Christmas and New Years.
