Mont Blanc is a must for all wannabee alpinists and a great challenge for trekkers and hill walkers. It shouldn't be underestimated. Why have a wet weekend in the Lakes? With cheap flights to Geneva and efficient airport transfers, Chamonix is easy for a weekend. You can leave work on Friday eveing and still be in Chamonix before closing time. The extensive Chamonix Valley cablecar system allows you to get into the mountains fast so you can spend your short visit skiing or climbing rather than walking or skinning. You'll also be able to get a day in the mountains on your last day then be in Geneva for an eveing flight home.
